Only get Base Credit
Hello, I'm relatively new to folding and don't understand all the intricacies of it. However I have run into a slight problem. I am folding projects that have expected credit returns of ~25000 credits, yet I only ever receive the base credit of 6000. This is occurring for both my gpu and cpu (wasn't quite sure where else to post this topic). Am I doing something wrong? Do my drivers need updated or something? Sorry I am still a little illiterate in such matters.
I'm running a Radeon 7950 and an AMD FX-8320, if that matters. Thanks!

Re: Only get Base Credit
do you have a passkey? one must have a passkey and complete 10 units before receiving the quick return bonus.

Are you using a passkey?
Get and configure a passkey and then wait because the passkey needs to successfully complete 10WU's and maintain an 80% successful return rate before you receive QRB (quick return bonus) points.

Welcome to the F@H Forum BenSlayer68,
With your GPU, it is advised to install the latest WHQL Drivers from AMD Site and configure your client to get FahCore_17 WUs. To do that, open Advanced Control (AKA FAHControl) -> Configure -> Slots Tab -> GPU -> Under the Extra slot Options, enter the following:
Name: client-type
Value: advanced
Please note that if you have any issues or are unsure about F@H settings, please post the log here along with the initial section which contains the system details and F@H configuration.

Thanks for your quick replies,
I have done way more than 10 projects but have not put in a passkey. I just did that, I'll post if it fixes the issue when the fold is done in the morning.
@PantherX: I already have my gpu set on that.

Please note you will have to complete 10 bonus-qualified work units after you add the passkey and maintain an 80% success rate before you start to receive the bonus points.

Ah, I see. Alright well that should still only take me a couple of days then. Thanks!

Were you not prompted for a passkey when you installed the client?

Re: Only get Base Credit
Does the "10 bonus-qualified work units" thing only apply on a rolling basis? I have been using FAH with a passkey off and on over the past few years since they first introduced the passkey system and I noticed both of the last two WUs I submitted did not receive a bonus. I'm not aware of having any WUs fail, it just seems that I do not receive any bonus. Is there any way to verify what's going on, or are there any other requirements? i.e. You must have returned 10 bonus-qualified work units within the last 30 days to qualify.
Re: Only get Base Credit
Nope, no rolling basis. Minimum 10 bonus-qualified returns and maintain at least an 80% success rate.
If you supply the PRCG numbers for those two work units an admin/moderator can check their returns and should be able to shed some light on the situation.

Re: Only get Base Credit
The next question is were those WUs returned before the deadline, hence the need to check those specific WUs.bollix47 wrote:Nope, no rolling basis. Minimum 10 bonus-qualified returns and maintain at least an 80% success rate...

Re: Only get Base Credit
If you PM a moderator with your folding username and passkey, then your passkey status can be manually checked.
Re: Only get Base Credit
OK it just gets stranger and stranger. I'm looking in C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\logs and I see data in the log file from about two weeks ago, but the last two log files (the two WUs that I believe did not get bonus credit) are effectively blank. If I go back even further, this is the last log file that isn't blank:
The WU should have been returned well within the deadline and yet it shows:
09:34:08:WU00:FS00:Final credit estimate, 5757.00 points
Which is the base credit for the WU. It appears I've returned 30 WU's just in the month of November alone, so I'm puzzled by this. Is there any way for me to verify that the client knows my passkey correctly? I requested a new passkey from the Stanford website before the two most recent WUs but the software never tells me that I have entered the passkey correctly or not. I use copy/paste, so it should be flawless, but there is no "VERIFY" button, or anything of that nature that I can find.

Re: Only get Base Credit
The current log will be C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\log.txt. You can also refresh the log in FAHControl to see the current info that hasn't been moved to \logs yet.
You can PM an admin or moderator with the passkey and they can check it.

That's an 8018 - core 15 GPU work unit and does not qualify for bonus.09:34:08:WU00:FS00:Final credit estimate, 5757.00 points

Re: Only get Base Credit
Only Core_17 WU's receive QRB bonus for GPU's. The older Core_11/15/16 WU's have never received QRB bonus points. The V7 client knows this information so it won't give out an estimate that includes the QRB when it is not applicable.
I am not positive, but I think that the V7 client assumes a valid Passkey though so if that is the problems then what will happen is the estimate in the log will include the QRB but in actuality you won't get them.
