Not Working?

The display keeps saying "Could not connect to assignment server" and recently "could not get work instructions". I left it up all last night and the Core number went to 43 and no finished WUs. I used another program to check the same port and it said it was forwarded correctly and working. So why is it having connection issues?

Please post your FAHlog.txt in code brackets, and someone here can help you figure out what's wrong.

use code tags like this- the word "code" enclosed in brackets- then FAHlog.txt- then (use the forward-slash)  "/code" in brackets- (remove the quotation marks)

In the meantime, make sure that your "Use IE connection settings" is configured NO.

Maybe your administrator changed the proxy settings.

Administrator? You mean me? Cause I am the one everyone answers to about the computers.

It works on this computer and network. I'll see if it works on the other 3 computers on this network.

The computers on the other network all work but not that one computer connected to a different router.

Still not working on my main computer. When I set it to use IE settings it gets a little farther. Sometimes the message at the bottom says downloading but that's followed by core download error. Any ideas? I turned off the firewall and it didn't make a difference.

"Use IE settings" doesn't work with IE6 or 7 (or 8beta1 if you have it), because microsoft made some changes to the software. You will be advised by everyone on here to remove that setting, and then we can do some more fault finding
As for the fault finding, I have no idea sorry lol

If I remove the ie setting then I have the same thing as I already posted above. The display goes between "could not connect to assignment server" and "could not get work instructions". While the log says "Could not get ID from server" over and over again.

Unless you are using a proxy, you should disable that was well. I would guess the other computers that are working are not using proxy settings.

So you see this line in the other clients that are working?

Ahh it was the proxy settings causing issues. I'm not as good with the netgear router as the dlink. I setup all the computers up the same but the others are on the dlink router which I much prefer. 4 processors working now.
