More Core Download Errors

Post by marctaylor15 »

Since I began folding in mid-March, I have never been able to successfully download a core automatically. Each time a new core has been needed, I have had to manually download the core, hex edit the fah file to create a .bz file and then extract the exe using Winrar. I have tried setting the FAH client to use IE settings, neither "yes" nor "no" yields any success. Although, if I specify "yes" to use IE settings I then have problems uploading and downloading WU's and results. I typically have no problem up/downloading WU's and results. Only cores. Attached is the latest failure. I would appreciate any ideas. BTW, I am running XP Professional and Windows Server 2003. Both the XP and 2003 machines have the same problem.

Thanks!

The USE IE thing tells me you have something on your network blocking your connection. Same for not being able to download fahcores.

Please describe how you connect to the internet, home, work, DSL, cable? HW or SW proxy, firewall, AV software, etc.?

I have a DSL connection (1.5Mb). I am behind a Netgear router which performs NAT, but is not set to block any traffic. What is odd to me is that WU's download fine and I am also able to upload results. Only the core downloads fail. BTW, I connected my machine directly to the Internet connection and it still failed. My XP machine has the Windows Firewall enabled (it is not throwing any error/exception messages, and my W2003 server is not running a software-based firewall.
