Problems recruiting
I think these protein folding related projects are a worthy and reasonable cause but I myself have some trouble convincing people that they should do the same! I'd love to hear some stock responses and other ideas you might have that could help me convince some friends and associates to start folding.

There's a nice thread on responses to objections at the top of this forum:

I havn't really got a chance to get that far into an argument. It's kind of like "yeah, okay..." response. Worst case "I can't run it on my computers, I'm already using Unicorns@Home".

Re: Problems recruiting
I've run into that, too, and I'm not sure you can convince someone at that stage to start folding. I used to sell scrip for our schools, and there were some people who just didn't/couldn't/wouldn't get it. I finally decided I would save my breath if they didn't respond favorably at first [well, OK, maybe I'd try them once again later ], and this was for something that would directly benefit their children.

FAH will directly benefit their children. If I get Alzheimer's Disease before science finds a cure, it'll probably be my kids that have to take care of me.anko1 wrote: and this was for something that would directly benefit their children.
