Any updates on v7 client?

Post by Char_Ell »

I looked around a bit but didn't see any recent news about the version 7 client. Does anybody know where that stands? Is beta testing going as expected or worse than expected?

The v7 client has not been released to the public. The standard policy is that anyone involved in testing will not be allowed to comment until after it has been released. So, the no-news blackout continues.

The only information about v7 that is recent (October - November) is available in this thread (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=16375) so give it a read if you're interested.

Thanks for the link PantherX. I had read that thread before but was hoping there was some more recent update about how v7 development and testing was progressing. I don't expect to get anything new in this regard during the holidays so perhaps we'll get an update from Pande Group sometime in January.

I personally believe the client will be released Q1 2011.

Any reasons for that?

For me,

I would guess the same thing. Reason for my thinking is if history is any indicator (which isn't always correct), some of the clients have launched in this time frame. SMP2 is a good example. :egeek:

But hey, thats just a guess. It could be until 4Q of 2011 for all we know.

We are making a push for Q1 2011. You never know what can crop up in testing (v7 is currently going through alpha testing), but I think we're close.
