I have had this project fail on me three or four times now, w/o uploading any partial results. I don't know if it is a bad WU or if my machine simply cannot do it. I would rather not get the WU again if possible and want to see if another machine elsewhere can finish it.

I am willing to believe that my machine has a problem, but the standard SMP WUs seem to not have a problem, and Project 2684 & 2686 WUs never seem to have issues either. So, has this WU been assigned anywhere else and has it been successfully completed?

Thanks for the report. We'll watch this one, but there is no data back at this point and yours is the only report I have seen on it.

Perhaps you can explain why the WU was unsuccessful in your original report but it was successful when it retried. (I have no idea what might have changed.)

Because:
a) My machine was assigned the same WU again on [November 12 05:12:05 UTC]
b) It completed successfully this time.

I am not 100% sure about why, but I had dialed back my overclock by 4 ticks on the BCLK for a reduction of about .084 GHz (21 multiplier by 4 ticks of the BCLK). I am suspicious that I cannot run 24x7 at 4.0GHz with the machine. I am not ready to up the voltage any more although being winter time, I can probably deal with the heat.

I would still be very interested in knowing if other machines get this WU and if they are able to complete it in one try. The machine has been stable using the Intel burn test, prime95, and other SMP WUs. Perhaps the machine has relaxed its spec's and no longer has the head room for 4.0GHz w/o further tweaking.

I am probably going to end up getting an Intel 980X CPU for this machine's mobo so I can retarget this 920 to a new machine to replace another aging machine in the house while my personal machine gets better.
