wu 6041 not sure if working properly

I have been having a problem with wu 6041, before it would crash my computer, it would be at 0% for 20 minutes and then the screen glitches and it restarts, no BSOD. i cleared the queue and got another wu project number 6014, after that had finished it gave me another 6041 project , the same one. The work unit still has issues, it still crashes my computer. I dont know what to do, ive tried changing my settings to get normal wu and i keep getting the same exact wu. i dont have adv flag set. i have even down clocked my cpu and nothing else on my computer is over clocked besides my gpu and i have tried not running my gpu and it still crashes. so what can i do about this issues?

i am able to run it if i cut the cpu usage down to half and run only two cores. my cpu temps are normal at 46*c, it ran for 5 hours and got 5% done. i tried to run it with all cored and it crashed, im trying three cores now to see what happens, and i changed the cpu usage to 70%.

as i was typing that last post my computer crashed. i stress tested the cpu and ram with occt. the test came back fine.

If the WU runs on 2 cores but not on 4, it's somehow related to limitations in your hardware -- especially since you mentioned a 20-minute time-frame. Heat is certainly a good thing to have checked but perhaps some additional checking along those lines might be appropriate. (e.g- is heat accumulating somewhere inside your computer and causing problems for something OTHER THAN your cpu?

Unfortunately this is not the sort of issue that's easy to diagnose -- especially remotely.

Have you tried -smp 3?
Is anything overclocked?
The %CPU setting doesn't work in a proportional manner, but it may help by reducing utilization slightly which is the main difference between -smp 2 and -smp 4.

i got the project to run at 75% on 2 cores but anything with three cores it crashes. ive down clocked my cpu my gpu is not running anything so its idle and my NB is over clocked and ill down clock that but everything else is stock. my case is a CM haf 922 and has two 200mm fans and two 140mm fans. but currently right now it had taken 75 minutes to get three percent done! lol. ill try some different configurations and see what works best. if you can think of anything else to try let me know, thanks.
