171.65.103.162 Missing credit on recent p2485s

Post by daveb »

The last two units my old G5 has returned to this server do not appear to have received any credit.
Project: 2485 (Run 21, Clone 7, Gen 16)
Project: 2485 (Run 72, Clone 5, Gen 17)
Both units appeared to run and return normally.

Code: Select all

Another of my machines returned one of these last night and again, there was no credit posted.
Project: 2485 (Run 219, Clone 6, Gen 18)
That makes three in a row for me. All appeared to return normally to the server.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave

We took a look. The server code log said that the server found a problem with these WUs and thus didn't credit them. Some times flukes like this happen. As a policy, we don't credit these since if we did, this would open a hole for cheaters to send back bad WUs (this has happened in the past). The downside here is that people who aren't cheating (eg you) can some times get bitten by it. I'm sorry about this.

This may be a progress report on the same issue or it may be something entirely new:
