Is someone piggybacking my username?

Post by jl1176 »

my stats page says I have 3 active client with in 7/50 days.
Problem is that I have only 2 client working (SMP and GPU) pass couple months.
Although there were some people trying to use my username, they tried with team name so it wasn't a great concern.
But, now some one seems to got comfortable with my username.
Is there any way to find out whether someone is piggybacking my user name?

Also I just got my passkey for my user name for this matter, but as far as I understand, only points afterwards are credited towards my ID/PK, right?

Donator rank of 3k isn't that impressive, but still it is "fruit" of my effort. I want to keep those.

Any advice about this matter?

Well, the stats system is in the process of being transferred to new hardware, so funky things could be going on. Earlier today my stats said I had 22 active in the last 50 days and 15 active in the last 7, even though I know only had 12 active this past week and don't believe I've shut off 7 clients in the past 1.5 months. As of right now that's dropped to 21/14, and I can't remember ending a client exactly 50 days ago. I'd say wait a couple days until the transfer has been completed before getting too worried.

I too just checked my stats page (stanford) and found that in the last 50 days i have 7 active clients and 6 active clients for the last 7 days. I have the following setup:
Desktop:
1X Folding@Home 6.23 For CPU With System Tray Icon (uni-processor)
1X Folding@Home 6.23 For Nvidia GPU With System Tray Icon
Laptop:
1X Folding@Home 6.23 For CPU With System Tray Icon (uni-processor)

Username is PantherX and I am with team 69411. I have been using the passkey since I started F@H. I do check my points and they are exactly what i have submitted so was hoping that someone can shed some light on this matter.

Thanks for your help

EDIT- this also happened to me also on the old db, back in November

The number of CPU's is related to reconfigures. Each time you reconfig and change the machineID, you'll get another CPU added. So if you do a lot of reinstalls, or reconfigs then you will have lots of CPU's even if there aren't.

Mine says 10cpus. I have 1xI7 860 running bigadvs and 4x8800gt gpus. I've only had one reconfigure (no machine id change) to update the smp thingy on vmware, so that still leaves 4 unaccounted for.

My CPU figures are vastly inflated. I haven't done any reconfigs for maybe a year yet it says 135 CPU's in the last 50 days  If this is typical then I'd say the active total CPU count for the project is out by miles. I do have 120 listed in FAHSpy but I haven't used about 50 of them in 18 months, just old Athlon and Duron XP socket A machines most of which either got sold or broken up for spares....I suspect that 135 figure is close to my total contibution going back to when I started in 2003.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've spotted a glitch that's causing peoples CPU counts to go up and have reported it.
