Computer turns OFF (!) after 455000 out of 500000 steps completed without any dump record.

Could you post more details about the shutdown ? Do you have an error message, a BSOD, ... ?

How long do you have to wait before it shuts down ?

I think your should try to run a stress test on your machine to make sure it's not overheating : viewtopic.php?f=14&t=430 ...

Now with 455000 steps completed it takes couple of minutes.
I don't think it's overheating. Machine ran folding for hours just before that.

Check the Event Log and see if there is a report there.

Do you have any power-saving settings that might be shutting it down?

Now folding's gone further. I have reached 470000 steps and everything's OK so far.
Probably there were real power outages (3 consecutive times !) I should think about UPS purchase.
