As reported on this thread, it appears that the PS3 server is not uploading any WUs, but is still allowing the further download of new ones.

There are four different PS3 servers, not just one.
One of them, in fact, has failed and is not accepting uploads so if your project was assigned by that server, it temporarily won't be accepted back. One or more of the other servers are distributing new assignments so your PS3 can continue to work while the server problem is corrected.
Here on the forum, we have no direct knowledge of the internal working of the PS3 client except for the fact that the software was patterned after the PC software, which we know quite well. When one of the servers for the PC clients fail, it's not uncommon for the results to remain in the local queue while new work is started. Later, when a server can accept the upload, the earlier results will be returned and credit will be awarded, just as you have suggested in the referenced discussion.
