Re: CS woes !?
Why then not let the old CS 'working' in parallel?
Now, there 's just nothing (anymore), no backup at all for the accepting of Results created by dedicated donors who don't want to see work lost or delayed ...

Re: CS woes !?
I was clearly talking about CS4, 5 and 6, the new guys on the block; the old CS has indeed been out for ages. We 're not counting on that one. Donors are counting on 1 or any of the new group of 3 Collection Servers to help them and F@H out when 1 or more Work Servers go to 'Not Accept' or 'Down', e...

Re: New Server Stats page question
Is the Client column not visible when you view that page? I still see GPU, Classic, SMP, and PS3 labels for some servers...at least all the active servers... . I just checked that (linked) page again; I 'm sure there were only 'Classic' marks there when I posted this thread (a while ago). Now I do ...

Re: New Server Stats page question
I agree it was handy. Looking at it from the perspective of a researcher in the Pande Group, suppose I have mostly SMP projects but wish to get a rapid approximation to what's going to happen when I start a new study. Shouldn't I be allowed to create a GPU project to be followed up with more detail...

Re: New Server Stats page question
It was nonetheless handy that the GPU WS' were marked in this way, to easily find them in the long list of servers on the stats listing. Now you need the IP addresses to determine whether a server is a WS for the GPU client (GPU card) or not ... Since this is almost static info and wellknown from be...

New Server Stats page question
.
Why is there no more distinction between 'Classic' (type) servers and GPU servers (WS) on this page ?

Re: CS woes !?
From what is displayed in the Server Stats it seems that none of the CS' are accepting at this time; that explains it.
Now the question is why?
3 Collection Servers and not one doing what it was set up to do ... http://fah-web.stanford.edu/pybeta/serverstat.html

Re: CS woes !?
It was the reason why a lot of Results from the .141 WU's could not be uploaded; the .141 server was down (offline) and the CS would not accept them either.
This isn't supposed to happen and it is disastrous (for F@H) in a 3 day holiday weekend !
More so for someone running a big Folding farm.

Re: point system is getting ridiculous...

Very true; in the Team I was part of for nearly 6 years (and in which I started Folding) we always pointed that out; the actual science is measured in finished Wu's, not in the credits awarded to them!

Re: Bigadv points change
It 's about the 'demand' for Work (Units) by systems running at donor locations. When demand outstrips supply, (too) many systems are running idle. With current and future energy costs, that 's not a good deal for most donors. Not alone are there energy costs, but long term also hardware cost ineffi...

Re: point system is getting ridiculous...
Indeed, zeroing out 10+ yrs of history would be very counterproductive and unhelpful.
It wouldn't help the current situation one iota !
