Re: General server issues?
There's one other possible explanation. Perhaps you've used the -local flag some of the time and not other times. There probably is an entry in your registry pointing to the other location from some time back when you installed the GUI client. As far as FAH is concerned you DO have two installation...

Re: General server issues?
I think you missed my point. I think the "other" software causing the problem was Total Commander. Well, I did not miss it, I just omitted it as not very probable explanation. I really do not think that TC could have caused all the trouble with FAH. Total Commander is just a file manager ...

Re: GPU/PS3 folding better than CPU folding?
I was just wondering if GPU folding is better for "the cause" than CPU folding, points aside. Hi! According to the information written in this report, calculations using GPUs are much more valuable for the Folding@home project.: http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/arxiv/pdf/070 ... 3060v1.pdf Quota...

Re: General server issues?
Then, I have no other logical explanations.7im wrote: No, AFAIK, those applications only read data from the FAH directory to provide status info. They do not write and move info.
I'll just keep folding and pay attention to what happens later.
Thanks for your assistance

Re: General server issues?
My years of experience with fah match your experience with FAH. Fah keeps it's files in one place. Only other programs can interfere. Are you sure that Total Commander is not responsible for this double fahlog.txt file problem instead of the FAH client? Bingo, you have just asked the right question...

Re: General server issues?
Here is the relevant fragment of FAHlog.txt from the re-install. (...) Well, as I can see there is no info about the 9th of january in this log!! Strange... I pasted it from c:\Program Files\FoldingAThome\FAHlog.txt. Geee..., to my surprise there is also another log FAHlog.txt in here: c:\Documents...

Re: General server issues?
According to the server, that's not what happened. The WU for which you got credit took more than 2 days for your machine to complete. The one for which you received zero points took only 6m 12s. I don't think you processed it again -- you just uploaded work that had already been completed. Right. ...

Re: General server issues?
Points are only granted the first time a user completes a work unit. Please confirm that you only have one GPU card and one GPU client, or do you have more than one computer with a GPU card? Hi Obcy_from_Poznan (team 276), Your WU (P2725 R7 C269 G33) was added to the stats database on 2008-01-08 02...

Re: General server issues?
[ FAH is designed to protect itself from missing scientific results. One aspect of that design is reissuing WUs which pass the Preferred Deadline. Another aspect of that design is reissuing a WU to a client which appears to have lost the WU. Your WU (P2620 R49 C96 G4) was added to the stats databas...

Re: General server issues?
I can confirm that this WU was uploaded and received zero points: Hi Obcy_from_Poznan (team 276), Your WU (P2723 R0 C483 G9) was added to the stats database on 2008-01-04 06:54:27 for 0 points of credit. This is it! I uploaded a ready WU and received 0 points for it. BTW: Is the information, that y...

Re: General server issues?
Hello! I confirm what Endrik writes and complaints about. There must be some severe issues with the FAH servers because I also noted that I had been not granted points for a couple of WUs. I use the GPU Graphical User Interface client and employ my X1950Pro for this burden. Usually I score about 330...
