Re: libbz2
Is it just the system parts of file system that are read only with bazzite? Are you free to do whatever you want under your home? Looks like it! According to a doc I found, the following directory paths are read-only in Fedora Atomic editions (which Bazzite is based on): /usr, /etc, /var, /sysroot,...

Re: libbz2
They are trying to run the tarball client built for debian on a redhat distro. This no longer works because of dynamic linking to libbz2.so.1.0, which is named libbz2.so.1 on redhat. The current solution is to build the client yourself using the instructions in the GitHub repo. https://github.com/F...

Re: libbz2
Look where you are posting your comments. The topic of the thread is libbz2, and the reason for the thread was that user misread the guide (which is not a massive issue, we all do that from time to time). You come in with something completely different. Your issue is neither libbz2, nor misreading ...

Re: libbz2
I ran into the same problem when trying to run the 8.5 client; I don't have this problem with the 8.4 client. I have Bazzite, so because of the whole "immutable operating system" thing, I can't install or build packages myself, or haven't figured out how to circumvent the Bazzite protecti...

Re: Productivity Suddenly Dropped
Any chance you can post the header of the log file when starting a new WU?

Re: 18263
OK so I have a couple related questions I guess. I see in the 18263 description it says: Accordingly, we have implemented a minimum system memory requirement of 8000 MiB to run 182[51-56,58,61,62]. and 12000 MiB to run 182[57,60] The description covers 18251 - 18262 but does not include what the mem...

Re: 18263
18263 seems to work great on AMD though, which is a welcome change from the norm.

Re: Mini PC Testing.
If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will answer the best I can. :) At least 3 of those have a pretty decent integrated GPU: the 780M in the 7940HS, 8845HS, and 8945HS. Looking at the LAR systems GPU data it seems there's a decent enough chance those might be able to do something like 500k...

Re: Shorter units
I just bought an i7-13700k processor - latest you can get. The last project to download was going to take 12 hours, with a 2 day deadline. I only want this PC on 2-3 hours a day, so it's pointless my trying to contribute. Giving up on FAH unfortunately. Let me download projects that will take 2/3/4...

What kind of results does it produce? Like points per dollar/euro?

Re: RTX 4090 is getting 26M PPD
My 4090 only gets about 9-18M PPD. Will there be more WUs later that actually make this GPU worth the money? At this point, those of us who buy equipment to support the project as our hobby might just as well go for a 4080. Which OS are you running? I noticed over on the lar systems page there's a ...

Re: Driver 332.21 WHQL
I tried the 332.21 driver as well, no change. I tested all four driver versions in FAHBench, here's the results: Explicit SP 314.22: 35.4306 ns/day 327.23: 34.8926 ns/day 331.82: 15.5557 ns/day 332.21: 15.6549 ns/day Implicit SP: 314.22: 137.861 ns/day 327.23: 139.067 ns/day 331.82: 144.298 ns/day ...

Re: Folding on Android
Those peak performance numbers for phones/tablets are not sustainable either. It's been well documented that pretty much all mobile platforms are only able to run at full speed for anywhere from a couple seconds to a couple minutes before they must thermally throttle, if even by a little bit. Furthe...
