Re: Radeon 7800 XT not used for folding (Fedora 41)
Hey! The user groups are already configured. I removed the rocm-opencl package, added the amdgpu-install repo and installed rocm-opencl-sdk. Rebooted. Clinfo output was OK. Still FAH webclient listed the dGPU as unsupported and work units are not processed. I installed OpenCL-ICD-Loader but it repor...

Re: Radeon 7800 XT not used for folding (Fedora 41)
Thanks for the quick reply! I added my user to the groups "render" and "video". Additionally, I installed the packages "rocminfo" and "rocm-opencl" via DNF. I could not find a Fedora package for rocm-opencl-sdk. (I also found some Fedora docs: https://fedorapr...

Radeon 7800 XT not used for folding (Fedora 41)
Hi, I compiled and installed the FAH client from the latest code based on the RPM build instructions: https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/fah-client-bastet/blob/master/BUILDING-RPM.md Folding with CPU cores works but I want to use my dGPU, Radeon 7800 XT, instead. It seems to be recognized but when I s...

How to install folding@home client v8 on Fedora?
Hi.
I'd like to install F@H client v8.3 on my Fedora 40 machine. For v7 I know there is an rpm package. Is there also one for v8? If not, is there some guide how to install F@H on an "unsupported" Linux distro like Fedora?
Thanks in advance!

Re: How to get pci-slot and pci-bus values for GPU?
Thanks! I absolutely did not realize that there was a System Info tab. I'll see in the next days if iGPU works or not on my machine. If not, I'll just stick with dGPU.

How to get pci-slot and pci-bus values for GPU? [Solved]
Hi. Initially I deleted the two default GPU slots (iGPU and dGPU) from FAHControl because they had issues. Now I configured a GPU slot with index "-1" (defaulted to my dGPU) and got it working. But how do I add the iGPU? I read somewhere that I can specify the pci-slot and pci-bus values b...

Re: GPU PPD - NVidia vs. AMD
Thanks for the insightful replies! I will probably go with AMD so I hope they will improve the drivers in the foreseeable future.

GPU PPD - NVidia vs. AMD
Hi, I was looking at the GPU PPD database ( https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks ) and was wondering why all the top places are taken by NVidia. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX does not even make the top 15. In other metrics (like gaming) it's comparable to a 4080 but even the 3080 or 4070 seem ...
