Re: Project: 2484

Before you decide to replace the CPU, get some canned air. Blow the dust out of the heatsink and make sure all the fans are turning. If there's a filter on any of the fans, clean it, too. I opened the machine up about a week ago to remove one of the RAM modules and put it in my desktop (I didn't ne...

Re: Project: 2484

I finally completed a 2484 WU. 2484 (R17, C35, G6) completed successfully after I disabled assembly optimizations in the client configuration, which disabled SSE. I think that pretty well defines the problem as some error in how the cores use SSE on Applebred-based Durons or that my CPU has some ver...

Re: Project: 2484

I am using Linux and there is no percentage throttling in the client as there is in the Windows client.

Re: Project: 2484

If other folders are completing the WU's then the problem unfortunatley is with your machine. If you can only complete Amber WU's then it could be a CPU/SSE problem as it's the only core that does n't use it. Check out the RAM and keep an eye on temps and voltages is my only other suggestion. Good ...

Re: Project: 2484

All right, my machine has been running StressCPU v2 with one thread for the last abut three and a half days (5050 minutes of CPU time according to top) and has computed about 7.2E14 FP ops without a single error. The WUs that EUEd almost always failed earlier than that amount of time, so I think tha...

Re: Project: 2484

You can find it in this thread : viewtopic.php?f=14&t=430 I looked at the page and found the tool after you posted it. If the machine kicks its current WU (2484 [R121, C5, G4]) then I'll run it, but it's been working fine on its current WU for about a day and a half. I think if there is a hardw...

toTOW wrote:So many issues looks like a hardware issue ... have you tested your machine with Memtest and StressCPU v2 ?
It checks out with Memtest. I hadn't heard of StressCPU before, so I haven't run it. I'll run it and see what it says.

Re: Project: 2484

Is your machine overclocked ? Nope. It is running completely stock. The CPU frequency and voltage are set at default and the RAM timings, voltages, and speed is set at SPD select. It's a 1.6 Duron Tbred-B on an ASUS A7N8X-E board with 2x 1 GB sticks of DDR-400, in case you were wondering. It kicked...

Re: Project: 2484 and others

I cannot complete very many of the more recent WUs on my machine, the latest being 2484s. It has successfully completed two WUs in the past few weeks: 1. 2483 (R104, C27, G0): NaN (ener[13]) at 5% 2. 2483 (R199, C19, G0): Error 0x0 at 30% 3. 2483 (R199, C19, G0): Error 0x0 at 19% 4. 2483 (R199, C19,...

Re: Project: 2492 (Run 99, Clone 25, Gen 0) EUE

I hit 76% on my last one, so you're not safe yet. :( toTOW -- I also checked my logs -- I've done 3 and believe all three failed; two are listed above, I don't have the RCG for my first one. Yeah, of course, it crapped out at 20% a couple of hours after I replied with an ener[13] error like the res...

Re: Project: 2492 (Run 99, Clone 25, Gen 0) EUE

I haven't had one successfully complete, and I have had more since my last post. 2492 (Run 68, Clone 9, Gen 0) got a NaN error (ener[17]) at 4% and 2492 (Run 2, Clone 23, Gen 0) got an ERROR 0x0 at 8%. The machine also kicked a 2484 (Run 176, Clone 27, Gen 0) WU at 1% with an ERROR 0x0. However, the...

Re: Project: 2492 (Run 99, Clone 25, Gen 0) EUE

I have also had trouble with 2492s. 2492 (Run 22, Clone 6, Gen 0) has NaN'd: Launch directory: /home/phillip/nfs/FAH Executable: ./fah6 Arguments: -verbosity 9 [14:10:08] - Ask before connecting: No [14:10:08] - User name: Mizzou_Engineer (Team 34106) [14:10:08] - User ID: 3BAC6955549B0C2A [14:10:08...

Re: Points per day on laptops

I used to fold a lot with my old 2.2 GHz P4-M notebook a while back and got between 70 on Ambers and about 250 ppd on the old SSE2 DGromacs (usually about 100-150 ppd on Gromacs and Gromacs33.) I have test-folded with my 1.06 GHz C2D U7500 notebook and it gets a maximum of about 600 ppd on 2605s, wh...
