For what it's worth (not much) I do not mind the change. I use the resources I have at hand to fold. I take whatever points happen to be assigned me.
I do wish there was a linux-native GPU client, though.

Re: True MPI version?
to be clear...as of Dr. Pande's first response, I am not "requesting" an MPI version; I am now just sort of curious about how such would do. Obviously there are too few MPI clusters looking to contribute to make a true custom version worthwhile.

Re: True MPI version?
7im, you caught me, I only read the first 5 pages (of 32+) of returned hits from searching for MPI. Sorry to clutter up the board. Anyway, my cluster is only 18 nodes, but is connected by DDR IB, so I was curious about the theoreticals. I couldn't find much recent literature on the performance of GR...

Re: True MPI version?
Totally understandable! Speaking hypothetically, how does Infiniband latency work with GROMACS?

True MPI version?
I realize this is a longshot, but figured I'd ask. Since it seems that at least some versions of the client or cores use MPI to do multithreading, and since there seems to be an emphasis on returning individual WUs faster these days, is there any posibility of a true MPI client? That is, one that wi...

Re: System requirements for this PPD?
Bruce, I'm not sure if your post was directed at me, but to be clear I am running Linux on my cluster. I do have a windows machine or two that occasionally fold, but the bulk of my work is done on Linux nodes. I was dismayed to find this thread months after the fact and see that, perhaps, I had wast...

Re: System requirements for this PPD?
Right - OK, that all makes sense. I don't think I've read the FAQ in 5+ years, since I initially set up my farm. What I'd really like to know is how much worthless work did I do, and if some thought I was cheating, or even just misconfigured, why I kept accumulating points without anyone complaining...

Re: System requirements for this PPD?
I just happened upon this thread while looking for something else. I don't read over here often. I was not aware that having several computers with the same machineid would produce duplicate WUs. I was always under the previous impression that I only needed unique machineids for multiple clients on ...
