Re: temperature issue
The Medium power setting uses one less CPU core than the total available. In the case of your i5 processor that means it uses 3 of the 4 cores. The Light setting will use half the cores. As I'm trying to explain, this does not seem the case for some WU's. The one I posted the screenshot of in my to...

Re: temperature issue
But in general even 75°C is safe for a CPU 24/7 usage and the core temps may be even higher. The max core temp for intel CPU is 98°C when it starts to throttle and reduces core clock. hmm, don't know about that: https://ark.intel.com/products/80817/In ... o-3_40-GHz https://media.natuurkunde.nl/con...

temperature issue
My machine is an off-the-shelf, and the cpu cooling system is just coping. Depending on the WU temperatures can run relatively high, and just for safety's sake I would like temperatures to stay at max 60°C while I check, as in my experience during some parts of a WU this can jump to still a few degr...

I'm afraid you may be overestimating me on my computer capabilities.
I wouldn't know where to look for those back-ups, and Explorer search gives no return on "fah log"

Sorry, didn't think about making another copy of the logs. Superficially it looked the same, but I didn't take note of any details like the one you're asking for now.

This morning no change however.
So I deinstalled and reinstalled folding, and am now working on another WU

Re: Project: 13741 (Run 131, Clone 2, Gen 48)
spot onno guarantee it won't reassign the same WU
Well, I'll close down and try again tomorrow.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Project: 13741 (Run 131, Clone 2, Gen 48)
you mean, put Folding on Pause and see if tomorrow that core has been updated in the meantime? For now I would just suggest pausing the CPU slot.
No elegant way of just throwing this away and getting a working WU until this has been cleared up?

Project: 13741 (R 131,C 2,G 48) [Missing core update]
My machine is trying to download this, but it is going nowhere. It hung like this for over a day, I deleted folding suspecting software problems, reinstalled Folding, but by chance or otherwise I'm back where I started: Ik hope someone can make sense of these logs? *********************** Log Starte...

Project: 7715 (Run 202, Clone 3, Gen 1)
Strangely, this one restarted without so much as a hint as to what happened in the logs (as far as I can see). Am I overlooking something? Re: Project: 7703 (Run 2, Clone 5, Gen 7) fails
In other words, no clear reason to be found here? In all the years I have been Folding I had the occasional restart, usually to be traced back to not properly closing (e.g. power failure, and indicated in the logs in such a manner that even I could understand that something went horribly wrong), two...

Re: Project: 7703 (Run 2, Clone 5, Gen 7) fails
Can anyone find a reason in those logs why that WU started all over again?

Project: 7703 (Run 2, Clone 5, Gen 7) fails
For the second time Project: 7703 (Run 2, Clone 5, Gen 7) failed somewhere over halfway on my machine. This time without any apparent reason it started all over upon restarting my machine: [13:21:16] Called DecompressByteArray: compressed_data_size=1004645 data_size=2267148, decompressed_data_size=2...
