Re: Any solid reasons for running v6?

V6 control by default is in given to the User. V7 control by default is taken away from the User. Having pause enabled by default would go a long way to helping change that. So why V6? It does what I tell it to do when I tell it to. V7 has a mind of its own. IMO when I launch the client I should be ...

Re: Discussion: what is holding F@h back?

I've been thinking about bringing the screen saver back for GPUs . . . A totally different goal is to provide a simple screensaver containing a slideshow, where the image is either static or gets viewed from a different perspective with an update frequency comparable with other screen savers. DO NO...

Re: Discussion: what is holding F@h back?

Doing it right: 1. The results are frankly the only reason I fold. Stanford produces in quantity and quality. 2. Blogging results and slightly less secretive about project details. Doing it Wrong: 1. GUI's It has been a long time since I encountered something as poorly laid out as the V7 client... I...

Re: The P8101 is killing my SR2

The 8101 requires 16 thread capability so only two or your rigs should get assigned to them. Your tyan might be okay so it's probably just the sr-2 that may need the overclock dropped a bit or maybe improving the cooling will work. Thank you, my signature is not completely updated for the time and ...

Re: 8101 Point Adjustment

You have to trust they set the points correctly, considering it's been benchmarked more than once. That must be why they have adjusted the points on individual bigadv wu 4-5 times after public release. Both UP and down. The fact that they adjusted the 6901 up rather recently tells me that th...

Re: Suggested Change to the PPD System

I was trying to figure out where that quote was coming from...then I noticed a hidden post...heh but he is right....6903 is 4000x bigger not 1000x... anyhow... So I have heard various talk about how the gpu units were (are) smaller and less complex. I knew that GPU client was Single precision and ha...

Re: Suggested Change to the PPD System

smp and bigadv both have a qrb system for quite some time now. what about us gpu folders? still waiting.;) In order to do that they would have to greatly reduce the base points to something more realistic of their value. They are Single precision wu... and are valued at about 60x ppd/atom than a bi...

Re: Project 6903 (Run 8, Clone 12, Gen 59) no BONUS credit

If the WU was downloaded with Eagle + Eagle, but then uploaded with S + S, no bonus would be given. Download must match upload. That is not correct the user name and or passkey it is downloaded under does not matter as long as it is completed on the same machine that downloaded it. At leas it has n...

Re: Project 6903 (Run 8, Clone 12, Gen 59) no credit

You may be saying that you are using two usernames with the same passkey -- or maybe you're using two usernames with two passkeys. Either way, to earn a bonus, you must qualify each pair separately. syran with passkey1 needs 10 WUs to qualify. Eagle07 needs 10 WUs to qualify with EITHER passkey1 or...

Re: Project 6903 (Run 8, Clone 12, Gen 59) no credit

I have a feeling you are using the name Syran with your pass key which the combination has not yet been bonus qualified. Every time you add a different name to a bonus key the combination has to be qualified. You may want to switch to smp until you get the 10 smp wu's and get it bonus qualified. I ...

Just curious but since it only got base points and PantherX says it does not match your forum name has the user name you are using for the WU's in question if it is you qualified for the bonus points. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=530723 I am pretty sure that is all smp... And...

Project 6903 (Run 8, Clone 12, Gen 59) no BONUS credit

Project 6903 (Run 8, Clone 12, Gen 59) no credit Project 6903 (Run 4, Clone 17, Gen 55) no credit I was fighting some gremlins so after getting assigned the first unit paused for a day and a half... so I can understand low pts but not no pts...after all I can crunch them in ~22hrs... And both units ...
