Re: Getting back into it, maybe?

I must be getting too old for all this, I totally spazzed on seeing the search field. Sure enough, there is a fah-client now running, although it's pretty moribund as I'm not crunching. There HAS to be some form of executable somewhere. Normally I'd think something along the lines of a kernel extens...

Re: Getting back into it, maybe?

On macOS, the client runs as a service at boot time via launchd. There is a plist that defines this /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.foldingathome.client.plist Still confused... no such plist but I seem to have a org.foldingathome.fahclient.plist. Created and modified 11/2024. Can't say that I really did...

Re: Getting back into it, maybe?

Hmmm, I had updated the machine config, this time added the signature... let's see if it works.

There we go...

10.13 is the minimum supported for v8.
That was an old sig, 15.3.1 now, thought I updated my tag, guess not.

Re: Getting back into it, maybe?

Thanks for quick replies... funny, I looked back on my backups and could not find that v7 config.xml file. Chances are the last time I folded was even before the v7. Am I correct that FAHViewer and FAHControl are totally deprecated? As long as somehow it seems to remember which team I am on! Oh, I s...

Getting back into it, maybe?

Heard from someone on my "team" and decided to look in to starting up again. Poking around I downloaded the latest app. Interesting, it wiped out all the stuff that was in /Applications/Folding@home, and left an uninstall and another link. Opening that was interesting. It seems I can start...

Re: Using a GPU-macOS?

That's encouraging... happened to come across something about a new client (7.6.9)... NOW it works in Chrome and one can specify which project to work on good job!

Re: Using a GPU-macOS?

I kinda knew it was a bit of a crapshoot, but needed to confirm it, thanks.

Using a GPU-macOS?

Am running a decent level GPU (GTX 980) and am curious about using it for folding. Basic question is, will using it use both my CPU AND the GPU? Second, can someone point me to some kind of documentation on how to set this up in macOS? If which OS is an issue, am running Sierra and in a few months H...

Re: WUs to Chosen Team?

I have been folding fairly steadily since early-mid March. It was towards the end of March that I established my passcode. Yes, only one location. I'm retired so not following some tech things as close as I used to, BUT my impression is although I have not paid extra (back in the day that was a thin...

Re: WUs to Chosen Team?

Yes I understand about usernames, but they have the exact same "rank" which tells me it's me. I think. Had thought I got the passcode right in the browser, went looking and found the email! Sorry to pester you, but with or without the passcode, that last link you posted only tells me I hav...

Re: WUs to Chosen Team?

That was quick... thanks. Yes I totally understand all about loads on systems like what you are doing, some days are better than others... I am not focusing on that. It's not so much that WUs are being credited to my team of choice (they are), it's that I am apparently contributing to this other tea...

WUs to Chosen Team?

When I first started up, I immediately chose a team to have my work credited to. Pretty soon I saw not everything was being credited to my team of choice... so I heard that adding a passcode might help. I did this. The web control client SAYS all my credits are going to my chosen team BUT I see a no...
