Re: Intel Mac Stuck on "No Work" & Question about "Only When Idle"

I made the mistake of checking the GPU-enabled box in 8.4.9 needlessly, and 8.5.5 compounded my issue by not giving me a box to uncheck.

Re: Intel Mac Stuck on "No Work" & Question about "Only When Idle"

I had the same problem on a 2017 iMac on Ventura 13.7.8. I had to roll back to 8.4.9, go to machine settings, disable the GPU there because it was not accessible in 8.5.5, then rolled forward again to 8.5.5, and now it’s folding. 😃

Re: Uploading a finished Unit will dump unfinhised unit

Yes, I jump to conclusions too quickly. I will look more closely at the machine log. I guess what I meant to say by “resilient” is that after a reboot, the job could resume with at least minimal loss of progress. With a project as big as F@H, one lost WU is not as big of a deal as I first thought. I...

Re: Uploading a finished Unit will dump unfinhised unit

Hello. I’m new. My Intel Mac was folding fine on a big chunk for about a day. Then it showed as disconnected. I rebooted, it took a while to pop back up, and it started all over on another WU. Not only is it infuriating that the core isn’t resilient to reboots, but now there’s a huge WU dumped with ...

Re: Newbie questions

Thank you, Darth_Peter_dualxeon, yes, I read somewhere else (the "new" forum) that there's no support for the onboard Radeon chip, and I was told to just use the CPU and put the slider to full, and it should complete in time. Also, there are some larger WU's out there. If I get something t...

Re: new

Thank you, Joe_H. I set the slider to full. I have read about the larger WU's. It just got one that it will finish in time. I wanted to be sure I'm not double-working or slowing things down.

Re: Newbie questions

Need help, please. 2014-era desktop not meeting timeout deadline. Estimated PPD: 882. Can you describe what kind of hardware this is? A desktop pc can be anything from some small system running web browser to someone having a server on the desktop. Please click on my name for hardware configuration.

Re: new

Yes, thank you. The automated setup used the CPU, and my computer received a work unit that completed after the Timeout deadline. I was thinking that maybe I could optimize the configuration somehow to at least meet the timeout, rather than having my machine slow things down for everyone. My iMac ne...

Re: new

In which forum may I find how to optimize setup for an AMD A4-7300 APU with Radeon HD 8470D GPU using Linux Mint 18.3, Kernel 4.15.0-91, x86_64, to get a WU completed before the timeout? Thank you.
