Okay, so after doing nothing. it now works again, but this is more of a question. i currently am only using gpu folding. why am i only using 3-12% of my total gpu resources at any given time? my current ppd is around 200k. im using a GTX 1050TI and my folding power is set to full. maybe this is norm...

If I start via the icon put on my desktop by installing it, it just constantly says connecting and doesn't do anything. I checked my firewall settings as well. Fahclient is allowed through.
