Re: Guide for installing FAH v7.6.21 on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS v
Ubuntu v.20 has been out for more than a year now. How is this still not fixed? Ubuntu is the most popular distro and making things complicated to start folding is just going to make it harder for people to participate.

Re: Using INTEL GPUs
For GPUs to be folding, they need to support OpenCL 1.2 and Double Precision. Last time I checked, the iGPUs from Intel didn't support it But they do, though. Here's the GPU Database entry for my HD Graphics 620 on my i3-7100U laptop: https://i.imgur.com/mcnkbky.png and here are my results from FAH...

Re: Unable to add another computer to client
It is doable, I have seen directions on how to do that posted here. Don't remember details, but dome other item(s) needed configuring to enable the web service to connect from other than the local machine. All I could find was a post by you from just a few days ago: viewtopic.php?p=320783#p320783 I...

Re: Unable to add another computer to client
Make sure fah has been restarted. The settings for network access won't take effect without a restart. In addition to that, CPU folding is rather sensitive to interruptions. If you use all 4 CPUs, then it means that the OS and other processes on your system will be interrupting folding. That causes...

Re: Unable to add another computer to client
There's a few potential snags. 1. The ISP could be blocking inbound traffic. 2. Are you forwarding the port to the same port number? Sometimes routers can be setup to accept on 1 port and forward to another port, make sure it passes to the right port. The 3 indicates how many threads are assigned t...

Unable to add another computer to client
Hi guys, I'm trying to add my computer that is 1000+ miles away to my laptop's FAHControl panel. The computer in question is my mini home (web) server running Ubuntu 18.04 with Folding@Home installed. I have TeamViewer installed on it and I can remote into it to change settings, if necessary. Obviou...

Re: Configure F@H to start automatically
I can't remember the steps off the top of my head but my approach would be to uninstall F@H (you can leave the Data in place by not ticking the box to delete the data while uninstalling it). I would then re-install it with the correct settings. Thanks, this worked. I didn't know you could "kee...

Configure F@H to start automatically
I'm running F@H on Windows 10. I just installed it on my laptop. During the install, I chose "Custom install (Advanced)" and set it to "Start manually (Expert)" I'm trying to go back to the default option, which is that F@H starts automatically on boot up. I can't find anything i...

Re: F@H 7.5.1 doesn't start!
 We should have asked you to run clinfo much earlier in this topic. We would have gotten a better understanding of the problem much earlier. The next question that would be nice if we could answer is how the dwords of those platform(s) FAH needs got disabled. Hmm, not familiar with tha...

Re: F@H 7.5.1 doesn't start!
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors (for 64-bit applications) or HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors (for 32-bit applications) These registry keys should contain one REG_DWORD value for each OpenCL platform. If you change the REG_DWORD value for a platform from 0 to 1 then that platfo...

http://www.ozone3d.net/gpu_caps_viewer/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/opencl-z/ I have not used either of these, screen shots may show us hints of what OpenCL is doing wrong GPU Caps Viewer doesn't even open, but the log.txt file inside its directory shows this info: 22:45:37 | 0 >> GPU Caps Vie...

Re: F@H 7.5.1 doesn't start!
OK, that clarifies a lot! Your card is OK, no need for an RMA. Your driver is the correct one, no sense in re installing it until the OS is fixed. Your OS installation is broken, not your F@H. (GPU-Z is unrelaated to F@H) Sadly this will not be the expertise usually needed here. Yeah I'm happy it's...
