Re: Looking for a Light OS
You could always run DOS, don't think you get much lighter than that.

Re: Android Abandoned?
If it'll work for Linux on ARM, it should work for Android. Linux is a better platform to fold off than Android. The difference between both operating systems is minimal, since Android is based on Linux. There is no "Linux OS". It's a wide variety of distributions (distros), many based of...

Re: Android Abandoned?
The Sony client is shut down just like they shut down for the PS3 some years back too (and effectively shut down all Distributed Computing on it by removing the ability to OFFICIALLY boot off it). Neocortix has been working with Folding@home on Gromacs (apparently quite outdated) as part of their wo...

Re: Visualization is not connecting
Any projected date for a new client / beta testing new client? Was reading that ticket and it seems like they were aiming for a new client soon(ish).

Re: Android Abandoned?
Shouldn't this be moved to the Deprecated section? It's a little misleading this sitting in the active area for the past year some and no definitive plans for its future...JimboPalmer wrote:Yes Sony put on open source, which has not flourished.

Android Abandoned? [No]
Just curious if Android development been effectively abandoned? Sony shut down before I got to trying it out, was always curious about it.

Re: 1070 Q-Max BAD_WORK_UNIT
@bruce Thanks for your information. It seems as if Nvidia system control is not as powerful as it pretends to be, or at least it does not do what it supposed to do. So I disabled the Intel HD Device and F@H seems to work as expected. I have a similar problem too, although I reported in the main cli...

Re: Folding trying to download new core that's the same vers
I shut down Folding and then relaunched it, now I'm getting weird messages in the log: 03:45:33:WU01:FS00:0xa7:Project: 14153 (Run 1, Clone 375, Gen 136) 03:45:33:WU01:FS00:0xa7:Unit: 0x0000009b0002894b5c6fca96f5208775 03:45:33:WU01:FS00:0xa7:Reading tar file core.xml 03:45:33:WU01:FS00:0xa7:Reading...

Folding trying to download new core that's the same version
Was attempting to turn Folding back on and was noticing it wasn't folding. Checked the advanced client and it says Update_Core and I'm thinking that's rather odd, the core should have since long downloaded already... appears Folding trying to download a new core but it's the same core but it appears...

Re: FAULTY project:
As noted I ran a Driver Updater which didn't find anything new for Intel Graphics.
The question remains is what changed after nVidia's 417 driver that's affecting 2 different OEM machines??

Re: How much CPU for a GPU WU?
Just for future reference... Task Manager does NOT give a true representation of everything that's running. There are processes (especially with VM) that don't show up on it. (Sofar as I know the ones with Linux distros do but there are so many distros it's impossible to say for certain.) Here's an ...

Beyond taking the HP to the same 417 driver (stable too there), I haven't had a chance to test anymore. I'll report back in when I get to test the other 418 driver.

Re: FAULTY project:
If the power is interrupted during the brief time a checkpoint is being written, FAH's work-files may be corrupted. This can cause FAHClient to restart the corrupted WU over and over rather than getting a new WU -- at least until the corrupted WU expires. that's a pretty rare occurrence, but maybe ...

Re: FAULTY project:
The Intel link you gave me didn't say anything about running a Util, just removing the entries from the registry. After rebooting I confirmed they were indeed gone. The driver I just noted is the nVidia driver... 425.x is the current series. I paused Folding to try Bench which ran fine. I restarted ...
