Re: Full installation every time?

I can control FAH in my admin account, and it runs on startup without any action on my part. I just log in to that account and let it run. My wife uses an admin account all the time, and FAH starts whenever she boots up.

Re: Full installation every time?

The 1FAHControl shortcut just opens the folder FAHClient folder (This PC > Windows (C:) > Users > Keff > AppData > Roaming > FAHClient. Same for IFAHData. I can't specify "C:\Program Files\FAHClient\HideConsole.exe" "C:\Program Files\FAHClient\FAHClient.exe" as a target. Neverthe...

Re: Full installation every time?

Thanks. Yes, Keff is the standard account I use almost all the time. I'll follow your instructions and let you know how it works.

Re: Full installation every time?

I installed it while in Keff. I just quit it, and there's no icon in the tray. There is an icon on the admin desktop and one in the admin account's tray. So I can run it in the admin. account without reinstalling, but not in the standard account. So it's being installed in the admin account . . .

Re: Full installation every time?

I used the code format in the previous message, but it doesn't look that great. If someone could tell me how to do it better, I'd appreciate it.

I completely uninstalled FAH, then reinstalled it. It did require my admin permission to install.

Re: Full installation every time?

An update on my situation. I installed FAH when I was logged in to a standard account, which I almost always use. Yesterday, I stopped folding and rebooted my computer. I logged in as the administrator and imaged my disk. When I was done, I looked in the tray and found that FAH was running. No reins...

Re: Full installation every time?

My wife just bought a HP desktop running Windows 10. It has an integrated GPU, so I installed FAH just for the CPU. FAH runs whenever the machine is on. I set it to pause when the machine's in use. I don't think my wife knows it's running. ;) As an aside, maybe future version could play the protein....

Re: Full installation every time?

When I stop folding, the system tray icon disappears. However, when I restart it (via full installation) it picks up the work where it left off. Please explain to me where I can find the full editor and put log listings in the code tags. It's folding to beat the band when it's running. I have plenty...

Re: Full installation every time?

I refreshed it. Here are ~ the first hundred lines. I notice that it includes " Platform: win32 XP 20:22:33: Bits: 32." I'm running a 64-bit Windows 10 system. *********************** Log Started 2016-10-16T20:22:33Z *********************** 20:22:33:************************* Folding@home C...

Re: Full installation every time?

Thanks. I use a standard account. I don't recall being asked for admin. permission during the install. I accepted all the defaults during install. Ultimately, not a big deal.

I don't know how to refresh the log. Here's some of it. Re: Full installation every time?

Maybe I'm inept, but I tried all three methods suggested for Windows 7 and 8.1, and I can't find any log folders. There's no log option in the advanced controls, and no logs in the FAH folder.

I'm running Windows 10 - does that matter?

Full installation every time?

It seems to me that whenever I stop folding, I have to completely reinstall the software to begin folding again. Am I right?
