Re: Cannot connect to server

As P5-133XL says, shutdown the client, re-start it with the -configonly flag. Then continue into advanced configuration and set -advmethods to yes. then re-start the client.

Re: Cannot connect to server

I had the exact same issues up until just a few minutes ago. I suggest you re-start your client and see if it gets a work unit.

Re: assign2.stanford.edu:80

I talked to IT and they agreed that I could have the port opened. We have a Novell border manager firewall, so only certain ports are configured for traffic, so they added it to the table of ports allowed to pass TCP data. I really don't know much more than that.

So far it works.

Re: assign2.stanford.edu:80

I just got port 8080 opened and WU's are coming through. We'll see how long I can keep that going.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Jeff

Re: assign2.stanford.edu:80

Which is why I said I think it's an AS logic issue, a conclusion also made more logical since OP has only recently had the issue. Also, when saying logic issue, it could very well be that the server was right, and at the time of request there was no work server reachable under port 8080 so it's not...

Re: assign2.stanford.edu:80

John, Thanks for your reply. I will ask the IT guys if they can open port 8080, at least for me and these clients. I'm now up to six clients waiting for work. Can anyone shed some light on what might have changed? I have been running these clients for quite a while with no issues and only using port...

assign2.stanford.edu:80

Anyone else having trouble getting work from this server? Our firewall blocks port 8080, but since mid day yesterday, I have not been able to get a work unit. Here is some sample log: --- Opening Log file [August 8 12:58:57 UTC] # Windows SMP Console Edition #########################################...

Re: GPU assignment server port 80

This seems to be fixed now as I get assigned to a work server. Too bad the server is having issues :) Folding@Home Client Version 6.23 http://folding.stanford.edu ############################################################################### #########################################################...

Re: GPU assignment server port 80

Bruce,

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep the client going and hope that it can begin to pick up work again. This is about the third or fourth time this has happened, but it usually sorts itself out in a day. This is the first time it has lasted a long time.

Jeff

GPU assignment server port 80

Pardon me if this is not the correct forum. I am having a problem getting a WU for my GPU client. This started yesterday, I cannot connect through 8080 as it is blocked by corporate firewall, but it looks like port 80 is having an issue. If I put the address into my web viewer, I get the Apache 2 te...
