Buy AMD or NVidia GPU for PPD?
With Dr. Pande blogging about the large advances for AMD GPU ppd due to Core 17, is that now considered the go-to GPU line for pure folding? Anybody have hard ppd data? Would appreciate input. Thanks.

Re: problems running 803x GPU WU's (may be DirectX 10 relate
Yes, for some reason EVGA's Precision only allows the GTX 460 card to go to 70% fan speed, which seems dumb.

Re: V7.1.52 problems running 803x GPU WU's (Apparently drive
I now have to also report seeing severe lag with the 8031 WU and 301.24 drivers, specifically it is WU 13,22,45. Resolved after rollback to 285.xx driver

Re: V7.1.52 problems running 803x GPU WU's (Apparently drive
The only one of my 15 Fermi cards that had crashed with this setup and WU was somewhat OC'd using EVGA's Precision. I have noticed that with these newer WU, they don't tolerate OCing at all. If you have increased your GPU core beyond stock, try lowering it back to stock speeds and trying the 301.xx ...

Re: New NVidia 301.24 Beta drivers released today
My friend Bruce discovered an issue with these drivers and the 803X class of WU and I concur on at least one machine running these drivers with a GTX 570. Am checking on some other machines at my remote location today and will get back.

New NVidia 301.24 Beta drivers released today
Perhaps these new drivers will fix the problem many of us were having with their latest WHQL driver regarding stopping the v7 client. Will try them now and get back here.... **EDIT** The new Beta Drivers appear to fix the previous issues of stopping the v7 client that the 296.XX series had...Go get ...

In Depth Article on GPU Operational Costs
From Tom's Hardware today...well-done article. Any hard-core folder would easily shoot above "enthusiast" or "gamer" as we run flat-out 24/7:

After uninstalling and deleting everything I am now getting HTTP GET returned error code 500 when trying to download Core_15. Serverstats show this server OK. Is it still my wacky machine? Again, the GPU2 client worked normally as a console. Thank you.

Re: Project 10633 (R90, C8, G48)
Well, a good idea Panther, and I tried it. However, the console client is only for GPU2 far as I can tell and it loaded a Core_78 WU and was working on that fine. Still futzing with that GPU3 client as I want optimum use of this Fermi.

Re: Project 10633 (R90, C8, G48)
Thanks, Bruce. I have uninstalled the client entirely, deleted the Roaming file. Downloaded a new client from the website, installed it, configured it and it comes back with this confounded WU from server171.67.108.31. I did this twice. And restarted the entire machine too. I admit to being flummoxed.
