well it is going to staff forum, then to big bosses, will get it in writing and i have written an implimentation plan (by that i mean how we will roll it out and run on a few test servers first)

yeah it's an odd one, I would have assumed it would also block web folding but that works fine (although only get 10k ppd)

So i think it is the main work firewall, connected it to the wireless (which goes over a different network and folding seems to work so looks like i need to amend the sonicwall filtering

ah ok, i tried to access the addresses it mentions including ports in a web browser and that worked fine bringing up the F@H logo and info allocation server or whatever it says. i have disabled firewall on my local machine but i guess it could be the company firewall that is blocking it. the webbrow...

Looking forward to getting back folding, hopefully with a cooler running card my room will be cooler too! Time to get some proper ventilation in my 'office' too.

Thanks for the reply. The main reason (other than the higher PPD) I wanted to change from my 7770 is that it is SO noisy! I assume that these are fairly quiet and the FTW is quieter than the SC?

Ah ok, so the 750Ti would be a better option? I run Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop too and i know they can use GPU accelleration but they say that i should get a minimum of a GTX770.
I feel that for some reason my cards aren't putting out a good ppd and can't work out why. Any ideas?
