Re: Pascal GPU Folding at Stock Clock
Ok, that I shall do. I can tell you that this issue has survived at least one driver update before, but it was increasing in frequency over the past month. I will not speculate further.

Re: Pascal GPU Folding at Stock Clock
Well this is interesting. I went to check what my driver numbers were and found that nVidia control panel was not running and I could not open it. I also found that the drivers were out of date via Geforce Experience. They won't have been out by much, but they are now the current 382.53 drivers. Of ...

Pascal GPU Folding at Stock Clock
System: Windows 7 i7 5930K Asus X99-A 32 GB DDR4 Gigabyte Windforce OC 6GB W/ Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV Cooler I have been having a problem with the overclock on my graphics card and it seems to be Folding specific. Generally it can run perfectly happily at 2100 Mhz. Sometimes it's a little lower, ...

Re: 375 Drivers Not Working With F@H
Windows 7 64-bit, Drivers installed through GeForce Experience. I am mainly curious if it is just me, I don't expect that there is anything that can be done about the problem until Nvidia fixes it.

WARNING Do not upgrade to 375/376.xx drivers (for xx<48)
I just installed the new drivers and now they crash every time F@H tries to start running. I have a 1060. Is anybody else having this problem?

Re: 100% CPU
Sorry, I didn't wnat to post the whole thing because it goes back about a week. Here is a good chunk of the top of the log, I think it contains everything you need: *********************** Log Started 2016-05-24T01:39:27Z *********************** 01:39:27:************************* Folding@home Client...

Re: 100% CPU
I normally have only minor issues with video playback and so don't worry about it. However, when this CPU spike happens the computer will lock up for brief periods and generally be very unresponsive. Video playback still works but is not smooth. I have not changed the process priority for FAH.

Re: 100% CPU
I actually use the advanced control and have been for some time (I am currently ranked #3278). Here is my log data for today: ******************************* Date: 2016-06-01 ******************************* 14:32:26:WU00:FS00:0xa4:Completed 172500 out of 250000 steps (69%) 14:34:53:WU00:FS00:0xa4:Co...

Re: 100% CPU
The slider ONLY controls the CPU, while setting it to light turns off the GPU. I checked the system monitor, FAH is using 75% of the CPU time when this happens. Right now it has gone back to normal, which is about 60% overall CPU usage for the whole system. I have 16 GB of system RAM and 3 GB of VRA...

100% CPU
I have a substantially overclocked i5-2500k and a Radeon 7970. I always run at medium power so that my computer remains comfortably usable during folding. Unfortunately Sometimes CPU usage goes up to 100%, throttling the GPU presumably by starving it of data. That GPU can do far more work than the C...

Re: Concerns about Video Memory
I had problems with my HD7950 after some years where F@H or Furmark made my PC crash. The temperatures looked good but to be sure I replaced the thermal paste on the GPU which can dry out after some years of heavy use. No problems anymore till then :-) That's interesting to know, though given that ...

Re: Concerns about Video Memory
Hmmmmmmmm. It would appear that the random blocks test is known to give false positives on ATi cards. Given this, I am going to run it overnight and check for anything OTHER than random block errors.

Re: Concerns about Video Memory
I just took a peek. I did discover that I'm out of compressed air, but the cooler was totally clean. The industry standard "touch the heatsinks" test also revealed that the RAM heatsinks are dissipating heat. I've put a great deal of effort into perfecting airflow and cooling in that case,...
