*Someone* -- I'm afraid I can't recall who -- suggested I go back to Nvidia 31x series drivers to improve the performance of my 620 card. Indeed, going back to 314 has greatly reduced my TPF and my eta is below Timeout once again.
Thank you, whoever it was!

Re: low-end GPU comparison (AMD vs. Nvidia)
My TPF on the 620 has increased to the point where it will miss the expiration deadline, so I've disabled it for the time being. No point wasting electricity if the work won't be used.
I suspect I haven't been paying close enough attention to this machine's GPU slot and its deadlines.

Re: gpu + cpu super low ppd
Speaking as someone else running "low-end" hardware, those numbers look right. Best keep the machine on 24/7 and don't use "only fold when idle" to maximise your chances of meeting the timeout deadline and thus earning QRB points (assuming you are using a pass key, required for Q...

Re: low-end GPU comparison (AMD vs. Nvidia)
Yes bruce, you're right. But from Dan_G log: 10:30:10: GPU 0: NVIDIA:2 GF119 [GeForce GT 620] According to Wikipedia: GeForce GT 620 .... GF119 ....48 cuda cores GeForce GT 620 ..... GF108 ....96 cuda cores That explains the difference in performance between my (oem) 620 and the other... Thanks for...

Re: low-end GPU comparison (AMD vs. Nvidia)
And of course if you keep deleting WUs, your may not qualify as your success rate will be under 80%. Please do not delete WUs unless you really need to. I forgot about the 80% rule; luckily I only deleted a few WUs out of the hundreds I've done. I don't spend money on F@H, I'm just looking to get t...

Re: low-end GPU comparison (AMD vs. Nvidia)
Unfortunately I've been playing around removing the "advanced" option I was running with and then trying different WUs by deleting the work folder a few times, so the log is pretty garbled. Also, I don't actually "easily" meet deadlines -- on closer inspection, my GPU eta is only...

What hardware provides best ppd per Watt?
I would guess the best ppd per Watt ratio would be achieved by second-generation Maxwells, but has anyone got any hard figures?
What about in the CPU arena? What's best, and is anything competitive with GPUs?

Re: low-end GPU comparison (AMD vs. Nvidia)
I also have a 620, but only get 1250 ppd. I'm running v7, get core_17 jobs, and easily meet deadlines. Would I do better with v6? If so, why?
