Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Final(?) update: After installing F@H with all 4 GPUs present it seemed like everything was fine but I was still getting display driver crashes and one GPU not doing any work. Web Control shows after 12h+ that it's stuck at 99.99% and while running it was showing decent PPD but again, it wasn't doin...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

I didn't use AMD cleanup utility before installing the new drivers, never had that problem in my life...until now. You might be right with not changing the GPU order just yet, I'll wait a bit.

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

I managed to install the drivers with all 4 GPUs on and now I'm not getting the "LoadLibrary failed with error 998: Invalid access to memory location." error anymore. The same GPU still has problems and there is a driver crash when folding starts. I'm going to reinstall F@H in about 3 hour...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

1.,2. and 3. are already checked. All the GPUs are identical so I do expect it to work with 4 identical GPUs if I installed the drivers for one and they are all listed as using them; not sure what to do to not have BSOD when installing with all 4 at the same time.

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Yes I have the latest drivers but I can only install with one GPU present or I get BSOD while installing the drivers, still all GPUs say that they use the latest drivers so it might be OK; and yes when I install F@H I have all 4 GPUs present. Thank you for the ideas.

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Update: I paused the troubling GPU but when I wanted to enable it again it wouldn't start. After a rig restart the drivers didn't crash and the troubling GPU was still paused and trying to start. After letting the rig run for a while I see that the log has some errors and the troubling GPU is listed...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Thank you PantherX and thank you for your reply! 1) I might have to. Hope that I can make room for it. 2) Yep. 3) Really good idea! Except those ~5 minutes when it boots, the CPU is not under too much load so it might not impact folding performance. 4) The cooler is new. 5) Already in a ventilated p...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Sorry bruce , but my hardware history doesn't go that far into the past, thank you for the short lesson. :) Back to the rig at hand, I get a driver crash every time windows (7 64bit) boots. Now 3 GPUs work, but the 4th one is idle most of the time. No clue what I should do about it... Web control sh...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

I had to go out for a bit, now I'm back and I'm trying to fix this (all I had time to do was to restore factory voltages, that I forgot about, but it still crashed). The cards were not getting too hot, have no OC (I will also try to reduce the default clocks) and they have plenty of power (2x850W PS...

Re: Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

Yes, thank you!!! I thought that a video driver crash creates a notification bubble that you can only dismiss with a click and it doesn't go away on its own after 5s. I will try reinstalling the drivers and take it from there.

Multiple problems on a 4*280x rig

I apologize if this is in the wrong section, before I posted I searched for solutions (and the rules for posting) but I didn't find any solutions so here goes: On a rig that has 4 280x cards (not OCed), I had a very weak CPU (a A4-4000 which was 2*3.2GHz) and everything was fine except the CPU was c...
