Re: Many gpu's available to me, what to choose?
Welcome to Folding@Home! The requirements I look for are OpenCL 1.2 support or greater, and hardware based Double Precision floating point math. I generally use Tech Power up GPU database to be sure a card is supported. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ JimboPalmer can you explain "Double...

Re: Help selecting the right GPU
Do you have a budget? I'm hoping to get input on both mid range ($200 +/- per GPU) units, for something I can put into effect in the near future. And high end ($600 +/- per GPU) units, for something I can look to upgrade to. The only problem possibly being with a higher end GPU is I'm guessing, it ...

Automatic Power Adjustment
I was wondering if it is possible to set F@H to automatically adjust it's own power level? For example to use 50-75% power when someone is using the computer. And 100% of power when there is nobody at the computer?? I'm guessing which F@H client a person is using would make a difference? I'm current...

Re: Trouble installing F@H client, and keeping it working
***UPDATE***!!! So I decided to go to my laptop and see which version of installer it had, it has fah_installer_7.3.6_x86. The current version is fah_installer_7.4.4_x86 that I was trying to download and install on my desktop here. I uninstalled fah_installer_7.4.4_x86, and then installed fah_instal...

Re: Trouble installing F@H client, and keeping it working
P5-133XL, Thank you for your help!!! Your advice makes sense, however like I mentioned, F@H used to work just fine on this computer ... I'm wondering if there is some change in V7 that is possibly causing the issue??? I'm guessing I had V6 running on this computer before I started having all the pro...

I've had F@H on this computer in the past and it was working with no problems, but then I starting having a bunch of different problems with the computer ... ended up replacing the RAM ... and re-installing the ...

Re: Does which Operating System I use matter?????
You can monitor the machine with TeamViewer if you want, but you'll really need to connect a monitor to get through the installation of the OS and get the FAH client going (plus TeamViewer, if you use that). I'm not saying that it's impossible to build a headless system from scratch, but it does ma...

Does which Operating System I use matter?????
Hello! I have a friend who has a Dell quad core he's not using since the hard drive crashed. He threw it in the closet, and got a new machine. I have a good hard drive, and he told me I could use his quad-core "until he needs it again"!?!? I would use this machine solely for F@H. I wouldn'...
