Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
One more thing I noticed in your config is that you're using all 8 cores for your CPU slot but the amd/ati GPUs require a full core for GPU folding. Most people would drop their CPU config to cpu:6 so that the two slots don't compete for CPU usage. This can actually increase overall PPD as the cons...

Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
What I do not understand is why the client reports it as UNSUPPORTED if the 1:4 is in the copy of GPUs.txt that's in your data directory. [Please confirm this.] Yes, OpenCL 1.0 means it should be removed from the official GPUs.txt so it won't help you, but hardware detection should be considering w...

Rattledagger wrote:Going by wikipedia, a real Ati-58xx is OpenCL 1.1 while the so-called Firepro 5800 is only OpenCL 1.0, similar to Ati-4xxx-series of cards.
Since AFAIK FAH demands OpenCL 1.1 or later, it's unlikely the Firepro 5800 will work.
Thanks for your help. Looks like this card won't work.

Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
I think I'll leave it at 6. Thanks!bollix47 wrote:From your current config it appears you have deleted the GPU slot. If you're going to leave it that way for now you could change back to cpu:8 if you want to but that's up to you and the difference in PPD probably isn't huge.

Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
The GPUs.txt file i had in there was from the date of the original post. And it was missing the 1:4. Updated it with the new GPUs.txt file and it's behaving the same. I've rebooted the machine still with no luck. The entry in my current GPUs.txt file is this 0x1002:0x68a9:1:4:Juniper XT [FirePro 3D ...

Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
Then there's the answer. Where do I go to suggest support for a graphics card?

Re: ATI FirePro V5800 Problems
Thanks! Yes I think it was working at one time. I was getting 12000+ PPD with this machine but I wasn't experienced enough at that time to tell if the GPU was folding. I'm thinking it was folding but that PPD only lasted a day. Then it went down to 7000 - 10000. Now i'm at around 10000 with my CPU a...
