Re: Serious uninstaller issue
PS. Windows' default backup function (not Restore Points, but the Previous Versions thing) restored files and folders perfectly with permissions intact! I heartily recommend people give it a try and use third-party backup programs with caution. The main thing here was that the Windows function could...

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
Just _PROGRAMS, no FAHClient.
I tried to replicate the situation by switching between S and F drives, but I got sick of the reboots at some point, so this wasn't a 1:1 repeat of the process.

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
CCleaner has never had any issues running uninstallers correctly - AFAIK it takes no action of its own, but simply uses the Control Panel function. I'll experiment some in a moment with a testing directory. *** After experimenting with multiple variations, the only way I could replicate the issue wa...

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
When you say the word "uninstall" what did you do? Did you go to the Control Panel > Programs_&_Features and pick FAHClient? or did you locate the program uninstall.exe and run it? or did you manually delete the directories you mentioned above? or did you use some other method? In you...

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
The actual paths I've used have been 1st install: S:\FAHClient - S:\FAHData *decide I want to move to HDD from SSD, uninstall, no reboot* 2nd install: E:\_PROGRAMS\FAHClient - S:\FAHData *decide this was a bad idea because _PROGRAMS has important stuff in it, uninstall* This is the first time I have...

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
Indeed.
And a simple safeguard like an automatically added subdirectory in the install path would indeed be okay with me, and make sense - it's better to have one directory too many than 15 too few. A simple safeguard against simple user error(s).

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
Re: uninstall method I'm pretty sure I launched the uninstaller via CCleaner, which essentially performs the same function as the Control Panel's uninstall list, but it doesn't take a year and a half to fully render the list. CCleaner also features deleting non-functioning entries, which is somethin...

Re: PATH
The value for that variable is currently blank in the user variables section.
Out of curiosity I checked the System Variables list, and there is a "Path" variable there that has multiple values, a lot of them hardware-related like Nvidia's and Intel's software.

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
Re: network drives The FAH Client has always been installed locally. The drive structure is as follows: HDD1 -C: %sysdrive%, OS software -E: productivity software, user data (profiles), storage HDD2 -F: large files, local backups SSD -S: games, other intensive/time-sensitive and secondary software, ...

Re: Serious uninstaller issue
Thanks, and I would probably not have ever come if it wasn't to report this bug. Was just a happy-go-lucky folder on the side. MS Office etc. get installed on the E: drive as I want to keep C: as "clean" as possible to make backups more manageable. The FAH client was originally installed o...

Serious uninstaller issue
Hi! I'm looking to report a bug that is not directly related to the FAH client itself. Did not find anything with search, so I'll get straight to the point: the uninstaller deleted everything in the installation root directory instead of just the FAH directory. Steps to reproduce: 1) Latest FAH clie...
