Re: latest working nvidia driver
What PPD are you getting with the new drivers? The 38 C GPU temperature looks very low. Is that a steady-state value? I don't notice PPD's because I don't care about points but if I had to guess they are about the same but I have only had one work unit number and it only show base Credit as stated ...

Re: latest working nvidia driver
Running nVidia GeForce driver 310.90 here for a few days now. For some reason, my 2x 480 GTX GPUs are running almost 10C cooler, there's hardly any screen stuttering or freezing when moving, resizing or minimizing or maximizing windows, normally this would be so bad as to make the system unusable, ...

Re: A "Crazy Idea" For Growing FAH
I wanted to add that a giveaway of this magnitude would likely run into some significant legal and regulatory obstacles. My guess is that the giveaway portion would be classified as a sweepstakes*, and sweeps laws are not very unified. I enter a lot of sweeps, and few are open to any non-US residen...

Re: A "Crazy Idea" For Growing FAH
Also the cost of running any computer is not really cheap any more. I hope and wish that more would get involved but the cost "not just buying/building a computer" but to run it is not cheap In colder climates and seasons, the heating value of the FAH computers can offset much of the cost...

Re: A "Crazy Idea" For Growing FAH
As others have pointed out though its not the cost of the hardware that puts people off - bear in mind that good parts will last several years so $1200 becomes $300-$400 per year, running costs are the bigger deterrent, many people have given up, not because they don't believe in the project or cann...

Re: Any solid reasons for running v6?

Re: Problem with the new WHQL R310.70 driver on GTX460s
Again, saying "it works for me" is not meaningful. It works for a lot of people. And it does not work for a lot of other people. And NVidia does not seem to have a clue as to what is going wrong. This is why I say I am testing and it might be worth for some to check it out as well... ther...

Small, Normal and Big Work Units
I have seen post about the work units size. - small = Configures the slot to get small WUs (~5MB) - normal = Configures the slot to get normal WUs (~10MB) - big = Configures the slot to get big WUs (~500MB) I know why to set for small and normal is normal after all but big 500mb. My question is what...

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.
What kind of computer do you have that cannot meet the deadlines running 20 hours per day? Certainly there are assignments that you can't complete, but there are also ways to get assignments that you CAN complete. In other words, it's a matter of learning how to configure your client -- and there's...
