Re: is bigadv really "folding"?
I don't disagree with any of the above, but from previous donor comments some were not aware that Bigadv was mainly researching influenza, so take another analogy, Someone attracted to donating straight $$ to feed starving children by graphic images in the charities advertizing would expect their $$...

Re: Project 6903
Well, at least the Wu got to where it was supposed to, I might not have noticed the missing bonus when all rigs were folding Bigadv Wu's, but thanks to the "Changes" in the last few months the SR-2 is the only rig Folding now so it "stuck out" a little, just another little "...

Re: Project 6903
Whatever it was doing there's nothing there to suggest it uploaded the Wu in question and then
somehow deleted it ?
I had a look in the "previous" log too, it's been sending and receiving with no hint of missing deadlines.

Re: Project 6903
Please post the segment of the log surrounding the time mentioned by bruce. I'm beginning to suspect a system-wide bug but I have not seen enough data to know what we might need to be looking for. Here's the log file with only the working frames removed: [08:25:22] Core found. [08:25:22] Working on...

Re: Project 6903
Confirming what Nathan_P suggested. You'll have to search back to: 2011-11-24 13:43:37 PST or 21:43:37 UTC to see when it was originally assigned. No record in the logs of that Wu previously back to the 20th (November), Project 6903 Run 5, Clone 16, Gen 16 downloaded 28th, uploaded 30th, back as fa...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
FACT: The points system is not changing. FALSE ASSUMPTION: PPD is not changing. The same points per WU and Kfactors will still apply to all projects. The same formula will be used to calculate points. Which WUs will be assigned will change, and that's nothing new. In fact, it's constantly changing....

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
SMP folders are not average users, I think it would get around. If you don't pick you automatically get the smaller smp wu's. They have to pick smp in the first place. Would be better if the system reset all smp and bigadv to smp and we had to change back, but that probably won't happen. However, a...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
I doubt "we all" have a $1000 to spare right now. Again, you don't need to raise the bar. If there are more people trying to fold BA WUs than there are BA WUs, then the extra people get regular SMP WUs. And if "we all" had followed the Best Practices FAQ from the start, when BA ...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
Ok pragmatic, :D But trying to build "affordable" Bigadv rigs would go against the stated intentions and goals of the Bigadv project, if we all try to be "have's" by doing so then the bar would need to be raised higher still to avoid the current situation of demand outstripping s...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
When there is a standard schedule from Intel and AMD in regards to their hardware releases, I'm sure Pande Group will be able to provide you with a standard BA update schedule. This is mostly hardware driven, not at all like you described... "we'll do what we like, when we like and give as muc...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
I can see clearly the need to keep future Bigadv projects in the sole realm of high end hardware, and that will of course have to change with new hardware, but surely I'm not suggesting the impossible, no guarantee's of Wu availability, or even of the beta Bigadv project itself, just some sort of ac...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
Sorry for not being more clear in the post. It's 16 physical cores in terms of speed (to make the deadlines), but since the client just looks for logical cores (and can't tell the difference between logical and physical cores), the client hard minimum will be 16 logical cores (if we made the client...

Re: PG announcement about Big Advanced Projects
Looks as though all the whiners and cheats who have been using scripts to run Cpu's that just squeeze in under the bonus points deadlines have finally done it, In one stroke they are going to render useless for bigadv anything less than 8 core 16 thread machines, even my SR-2 only just meets that......
