Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.

For sure. I was not indicating that machines that fold will overheat any more than others though

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.

Yep. definitely. We need to get it out. I'd rather have a noisy computer than a hot one. I've burnt myself on the headphones jack a couple of times. Having AC 24/7 isn't real good for your battery though is it? I wouldn't imagine a cooling pad is useful if you want it on your lap. How about somethin...

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.

Yeah, my machine averages about 18h a day, whether it's on mains or not. Of course battery life is shorter, but the fans don't worry me (just the people trying to sleep next to me :-) )

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.

I have been circulating the following internally. I should probably print some and put them up around the place. It should give you a pretty good idea of my views on the matter. If anyone has any ideas for an advertising campaign, could they please let me know. --------------------------------------...

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.

My iBook cpu temp frequently exceeds 65ºC. This does not affect performance, but does get uncomfortable when using on my lap. I have searched in vain for a way to spin the fans at lower temps. As soon as I turn 18, I'll be able to join the Apple Developer Connection, download the open-source code fo...

I may at a later date, but at the moment I'm not actually folding competitively, but I do fold whenever I don't need 100% of my system resources (I run a lone iBook G4).

Re: Job assignment

Thanks. Sorry my first contact had to be from obviously the opposing team. I'm with 1971. The reason I asked is because there are other projects that have to be completed sooner than the one I'm working on.

Job assignment

Hi all.
I have just joined, and in fact have not even yet completed my first job (I'm working on project 3405). Is it possible to request to be put on a specific project, or how does the distribution of jobs work? I would imagine bigger tasks get given to more capable machines.

Cheers,
Peter
