Re: Frustration, GPU related
The different launch directories were created as I tried the different suggestions offered here, but each time I cleaned up after the last one. The C:\Windows was the weridest one, but that was when I entered the -forcegpu in the Start In line, so that was my fault. I'd run the console version too, ...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
I just got back into GPU folding after a 2 year break so I'm no expert on this stuff. I used the info in PantherX's guide to get up and running again. I didn't install the CUDA package like you did, just the latest Nvidia drivers. I believe all the recent drivers have the CUDA files needed to run F...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
Argh! Really getting mad at Win7 here. The Target path is grayed out, so I can't edit it to add the -forcegpu. I made a new one, so that I could edit it, and then the Apply button is grayed out, so I can't save it. I click OK and that wasn't good enough because now it's reverted to how the old one l...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
After looking things over, consulting the GPU installation guide on the main site, I started wondering if my Target path is wrong for the icon. The icon in the Start Menu itself seems to be a shortcut (acceptable?), but the Target path isn't editable, it's greyed out.. http://i247.photobucket.com/al...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
After trying the first suggestion and deleting the files, it still has the edrfile hash fail and the IO error, which seems (afaik) to be the same problem as in my first log file. --- Opening Log file [January 22 01:49:15 UTC] # Windows GPU Systray Edition ############################################...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
Okay, I gave it another go, and managed to find a pictoral help page on how to change the short cuts. I'm very visual, so it worked very well for me. As you can see in the log, I was able to change the location of folder. Now it seems to be running into a new problem. I installed the newest nVidia d...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
It took a few times to read through that for understanding, but I think I have it now. Thanks a lot for taking the time to spell this stuff out. This is my first experience using Win7, so it's a bit of a trial by fire. I'm going to give it another go tomorrow when her office is open and I'll post th...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
Alright, that makes sense. I saw the edrfile hash bit pop up several times, but had no idea what it meant. I found the work folder in the user data, but I'm not sure what to do next. How do I set up the shortcut like you recommended? I saw other threads about the "FILE_IO_ERROR" and the &q...

Re: Frustration, GPU related
Sorry about that, I edited the original post; it's a GeForce 310, not the M version, they're desktop computers.

Frustration, GPU related
Hi guys, I hope this is the right section to post this. I'm new to the forum, but I've been folding for a year or two on a single CPU. My mom's office got a few new computers and she supports F@H so she volunteered the computers. I've got the CPU systray client running, and I wanted to get the GPU c...
