Re: Intel® HD Graphics
I read two pages of this forum and still not found out if Intel integrated GPU is supported or not. I am running the portable app from portableapps, and initially I had 3 slots (1 cpu + 1 intel gpu + 1 nvidia gpu) The fah client shows that the intel gpu is doing smth, but gpu-z/task manager says it ...

Re: wrapper of F@H for BOINC?
It's nice to see that the fah client can improve so much, and no need for micro-managing will be required. SMP along with GPU clients it's a real nice touch. But, it would be nice to visualize somehow the progress made by the donors. I'm looking at wcg and what tremendous job they did with their sit...

Re: What about OpenCL?
I think expecting a new client so soon is to be setting yourself up for disappointment.... nVidia already have OpenCL built in to their drivers and the OpenMM core isn't using that functionality yet so there is no reason to assume the ATI OpenCL client will arrive so soon either. Sorry :( If you ar...

Re: What about OpenCL?
If the same unit of work were presented to an arbitrary GPU through OpenCL, it would take much, much, much longer to process. Not quite. It depends on the WU. I saw the same WU being processed with CAL+Brook+ and OpenCL and there was almost no difference. The code was used at seti beta(yes, for sim...

Re: wrapper of F@H for BOINC?
You can essentially do the same thing by downloading and running FAH directly. That is the reason I quit folding. As much as I respect the research being done, I simply hate the fah client. I will start again only if there was a wrapper, so that I can also manage other projects. I know I'm not repr...

Re: wrapper of F@H for BOINC?
There is no wrapper from Stanford, and any 3rd wrapper would be unsupported, potentially even blocked if it broke the End User License Agreement. Don't want to flame here, but I cannot believe it. Basically you are saying that, if there is somebody who would put some effort into this, it will be bl...

Re: Answers to: Reasons for not using F@H.
And I know people who would leave fah if it moved to using a Boinc client. So, IMO, it's wash. Boinc would not improve the situation. Well it wouldn't have to "move" to boinc. it might be possible to do both boinc *and* the independent fah client at the same time. This was attempted and f...

If you want smooth, feel free to follow along on the path that Fah plows while riding on the comfy coat tails of Boinc. ;) 1. First OpenCL support http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?topic=857.msg26010 2. 64 bit support http://boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=1774 3. running different projec...
