Re: ISP blocks !
You need not have a constant connection with stanford. Only to download a new WU, and to upload a completed WU. Surely there is a way to refresh a VPN connection when needed. Sorry, I don't have a lot of experience with VPNs. you are right but my gtx 480 finishes WU every 1hr and 30 min and i run m...

Re: ISP blocks !
That was a question I asked earlier only with OpenDNS rather than googleDNS -- I wonder what happens if you replace the authorized DNS servers in your connection with something like openDNS's IP addresses? Depending upon the software that the ISP installed, there might be issues with the hosts file...

Re: ISP blocks !
I think I understand gwildperson's question. Let me translate it to a slightly different situation. Can you open either http://171.64.65.102 or http://vspg2v2.stanford.edu or both? Can you ping either 171.64.65.102 or vspg2v2.stanford.edu or both? i cant enter http://171.64.65.102 but i can enter h...

Re: ISP blocks !
I must be missing something. How does brienposey.com equate to http://www.ibm.com? And then you didn't show a picture of your browser when you put the ip address in. So how is what you showed have anything to do with what would show using the requested process? You see I have a real problem with th...

Re: ISP blocks !
Which F@h Client gives you issues? Sometimes I experience it with the GPU Client when it assigns me to a Server that gives 403 Error and there isn't anything that I can do about it :( Sometimes, I change the flags, WU Size, Machine ID and I get lucky to be assigned to a different Server. my isp blo...

Re: ISP blocks !
Solution 1 will never happen in my opinion, names are subject to change, and DNS server sometimes have trouble. Using directly the IP probably saves us a lot of issues ... with some bad sides in a few countries where ISP filter traffic :( Solution 2 will raise another issue ... the trouble that pro...

Re: ISP blocks !
For those who wonder why this post seems so aggressive, owned66 lives in the United Arab Emirates. Many countries in this region of the world are known to filter web traffic :( Did you try to use a VPN instead of a proxy ? ALL vpns tend to disconnect after 5 mins of inactivity :( and many times the...
