Seriously. Don't even ASK? What IS that?!codysluder wrote:Express your disgust directly to Norton for being overly agressive and not warning you in advance of the action it decided to take.

Re: Fahcore_a3 conflict with Norton
Maybe a Mod can merge the two threads. If they're failed attempts of the same WU, it probably only counts once. If they're different WUs, the probably all count. It was a different unit, because I WAS at 35% complete, and after the whole thing went down, I was back at 0%. I'm thoroughly disgusted n...

Re: Fahcore_a3 conflict with Norton
I saw that there is another post about this issue, so in order to avoid making this a duplicate post, can we ignore the whole "issue with Norton" part, and just address if anyone knows whether those 6-7 failed attempts are going to count towards my 80% success rate required for bonus points?

Fahcore_a3 conflict with Norton
FahCore_a3 is getting picked up by Norton AntiVirus' "Sonar" feature. Everytime it tries to get a new work order, the "Sonar" prevents it from doing so. Says soemthing about how the file is "acting suspiciously". Not only did I lose about 8 hours of work because of this...

Re: Hey, Honey what's this?
Tell your wife we thank her for her support. In addition to wikipedia, she should explore the stanford homepage and some of the related pages. Don't let her stop reading until she has at least looked at the layman's guide to the science and the list of scientific papers . Then suggest that she shar...

Hey, Honey what's this?
So, I'm new to F@H, but I put the SMP on my desptop, and left it running overnight. This morning when I woke up, my wife said, "Hey, honey, what is this thing doing?" refering to the SMP. I said, "Curing cancer." She gave me a look, and said, "Why don't you ever tell me anyt...

Re: My SMP is only using 12-13% of my CPU
Please review... Then you can either add that "-smp" switch in the Advanced settings section, under Additional Parameters (best solution), or you can add it to the command line of the shortcut that starts your client. Thanks you so much for your time! Now for the 6-8 hour wait to see if i...

Re: My SMP is only using 12-13% of my CPU
Hello Num1cubfn, welcome to the forum. You probably missed a step while following the SMP install guide, and the SMP client downloaded a regular CPU work unit. CPU work units are single threaded, hence the low CPU usage. As long as you eventually got the client configured to use the -smp switch (yo...

My SMP is only using 12-13% of my CPU
When nothing else is running, my SMP is only using 13% of the cpu tops. Is this how it's supposed to be? Should I be running 8 of these to get the maximum workload out of my computer? I have a laptop with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz with 8.00 GB ram. Oh, and I have 4 cores and 8 threa...
