Re: Selective Folding (branched from Nvidia issues forum)
I contribute to several CUDA GPU folding projects. Most of my GPU's are on FAH, but I do dabble on any DC project that comes out. One of the others has a similar problem to what is described here. They too want the units returned as soon as possible, but the framework (BOINC) gives 4 work units to a...

Re: 100,000 points per day folding beast
How big is your desk? ;) A good GPU only design can get you 50 ppd/w. 100,000 ppd will draw 2000 watts with a nicely designed GPU only box if you can figure out how to stick the equivalent of 10-12 9800gx2's on your desktop. A good CPU only design can get you 20 ppd/w. 100,000 ppd will draw 5000 wat...

Re: Folding Cluster for the poor
The original parts list will cost $750us for 4000 ppd and will consume around 500 watts. A MSI K9N SLI-F with the least expensive x2 you can find along with two 8800gt's or 9600gso's will cost less than $500us for 7000-9000 ppd depending on WU and will consume around 200 watts. You can get a few mor...

I got this one as well. Three immediate failures followed by shutting down the card.
First reported as bad on the 13th. Still being issued no the 20th.

Project: 2665 (Run 2, Clone 821, Gen 35)
Congratulations. It is very hard for a user mode application to break a linux machine. This wu does. I found the machine stopped this morning with one thread hanging 2912 2.0 9.1 145324 93368 pts/2 TNl 12:12 3:44 \_ ./FahCore_a1.exe -dir work/ -suffix 01 -checkpoint 15 -verbose kill -9 as root would...

Re: Windows 2000 [Not supported in version 6.xx]
It is no big deal, and I can understand not wanting to support an ancient os that the latest stats I can find show represents less than 3% of all browsers, half of what it represented a year ago. But, I do have several machines that still run it, and they can take compatible GPU's, but the pain of u...

Re: Windows 2000 support?
According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms738520(VS.85).aspx The getaddrinfo function was added to the Ws2_32.dll on Windows XP and later. If you want to execute an application using this function on earlier versions of Windows (Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows Me/98/95), then you ...

Re: Project: 2662 (Run 1, Clone 210, Gen 0) - Unable to send
No proxy, it is a 64 bit linux machine. After another thread (can't link to it yet), I suspect the problem may be my old A2 core.
Glad the work was of some use. Thanks for checking.

Re: Processor count
Sorry for the confusion. I went down my list upgrading all the beta smp clients and found that I was still counting one machine that I gave away over the holidays. Looks like the web page was counting better than me ![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)

Processor count
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... teamnum=14 says I have 6 active machines, but I really have 7 folding away. I added passkeys to two machines when I updated the beta client and realized that I only had the passkey set for one of my machines. Which makes me wonder if perhaps the missing ma...
