Lost Wu's
My apologies to the affected projects. I was trying to fold 2 wu's on my 7900xtx and did so effectively for several days. I was trying to fine tune using lact I went to switch the fan profile from automatic to curve and the screen went blank forcing me to reisub the computer. Apon reboot when I rest...

Re: XFX Issues
Try lowering the clock of your gpu through the control panel I don't know the default for a 9070 but with my 7900xtx I have to lower it from 3020 Ghz to 2620. You could also try lowering the number of cores used by the cpu by 1 from what ever the default setting currently is in the fahclient.

Re: Using MPS to dramatically increase PPD on big GPUs (Linux guide)
Wow Thank you everyone. I didn't even think this was possible. Working well over the last 24 hours with my 7900xtx. Went from 20 wu's processed per day to 28 cpu+gpu added around 2 million ppd. The extra 8 gpu wu's more than compensate for the individual reduction of qrb. I had enabled the gpu in th...

Re: Nvidia vs AMD CPU usage
I can't speak for other platforms but the one in my sig received a bios update on April Fool's Day. :| Installed it 2 days ago.I'm seeing a different behavior under Linux now. Ubuntu also released an updated 6.11 hwe kernel (using the Low latency varient). Bios setting tweaks are enabling DOCP (ram ...

Re: CUDA vs OpenCL efficiency on Kepler
Great news something to look forward too. Thank you! I read at Phoronix that Mesa finally retired Clover with the latest 25.x .Rusticl is either ready or soon will be the default OpenCL for older cards such as in arisu's case. Is fahbench's core 21 still viable as a performance test? As in cards tha...

Re: CUDA vs OpenCL efficiency on Kepler
I remember the day of that announcement and the results. I'm hoping Hip provides a similar boost on the AMD side.

Re: Amd released Rocm 6.4
They should focus their packaging efforts around 6.4 due to the refactoring in order to be ready for Hip. Forget about 6.3.x altogether especially if they haven't figured out how to package 6.2.x

Re: Amd released Rocm 6.4
If ya looked at my hardware configuration it is Kubuntu 24.04 LTS not arch. Rocm 6.4 installed via apt not amdgpu install. That is the defacto standard way to install Rocm going forwards .

Re: Amd released Rocm 6.4
That's odd on my installation it's created and located at /etc/OpenCL/vendors/amdocl64_60400_47.icd . No symlinking required becuase it's using the system path. The only symlinking so far has been Core 23

Re: Amd released Rocm 6.4
If just updating the sources fail you probably have to update the gpg key 1st. I kept amdgpu as a source even though I'm not using dkms maybe additional firmware updates pulled from there. I tend to error on the side of caution. Tax day so I'm folding from Win and from what I'm seeing there really i...

Re: Amd released Rocm 6.4
Haha yep 6.4 is a refactoring not every wu so far has shown improvement. All the cruft they did away with makes it so that I'm using the same setting that I do under windows. I'm sure the new microcode on the amdgpu side has something to do with it. Still waiting to get Projects 18238 18251..very cu...
