Re: Taking over a Team
Been busy recently, haven't had time to update this. We worked something out that will at least shave our time to get back up to normal by several months, and in exchange I dedicated my I7 to bigadv for a month... Seeing you average 4000 PPD over the last few weeks I would never have guessed that yo...

Re: Taking over a Team
Ahh, Bigadv is why. I didn't put that in place because it would require doubling the amount of ram and CPU cores needed for folding, making the system mostly unusable for anything else. (My wife doesn't let me buy hardware for folding unless I can dual-use it...) Without that, it seems that accordin...

Re: Taking over a Team
Your folding contributions are to Stanford's project to further a biophysical science; it's only by their grace that you have a rudimentary team structure and stats to identify with. For other distributed projects, I see people start over with new names just to change their team tag. Me, I fold und...

Re: Taking over a Team
Last year I was running a triple core, a GPU, two linux systems, and I had a PS3 intermittently running. The 40-gig PS3 is a bit at my wife's mercy since she often leaves it in the DVD mode. I don't dare run my original 20-gig PS3 on folding because I already had to send it in once. The triple-core ...

Re: Taking over a Team
If you locked your keys inside your car, you can expect help, but if you're breaking into a parked car that belongs to someone else you can be arrested. Using your hypothetical as a base, the equivalent to this situation would be if a charity group formed to do some work, pooled their resources, an...

Re: Taking over a Team
(Essentially, the question boils down to... Do you just completely disrespect and ignore trademarks, or do you only do it when the trademark owners have no trademark lawyers? If the former, You really need to be clear about this on the team page, and also be absolutely clear about who the team owner...

Re: Taking over a Team
Technically owner of the team It's not just a technicality. He is the owner of the team. No ifs ands or buts. but never in any way tied to the site the team was for other than a random person who logged in and set the team up for us... This fact doesn't matter one bit and doesn't change anything. T...

Re: Taking over a Team
Technically owner of the team, but never in any way tied to the site the team was for other than a random person who logged in and set the team up for us... I've sent the proof now to 3 different people that the site that the team belongs to is still in existence and owned by someone else... All I n...

Re: Taking over a Team
That's what I'm trying to do. I have a whole PM full of information to pass on to whomever I'm suppose to prove it to, but in the 3rd post I asked who I was supposed to send the proof to, and I've yet to get an answer...

Re: Taking over a Team
It's really frustrating though. It also seems utterly arbitrary how he posts in one thread that he won't help people reclaim the team that belongs to them, then turns around on another thread and says he'll refer it to someone else to help them reclaim their team. And it seems like not just time was...

Re: Points per day dropping
I've had the opposite problem. While my points did drop steadily from 2000 on one computer and 4500 on the other down to about 1000 and 2000 respectively over the past few weeks, when I switched to using Passkeys and 6.29, my points are now closer to 350 and 1000 per day respectively. I thought the ...

Re: Taking over a Team
Grah! I can't even recover my Arkaic team either, as I can't remember which of the myriad of email addresses I have was used to register it, and apparently they didn't send me an email when I did so that I could figure it out...

Re: Taking over a Team
We would have if we had setup the team instead of some random helpful-at-the-time person in the forum do it... We can contact all currently active members, that's not a problem. Of course, changing the team number of 15 different systems scattered around our various server rooms and houses is toughe...
