Yeah i am having the exact same problem. We shouldn't have to change from smp -7 for this to work....
Does anyone from stanford have input on this?

those are the bare minimum requirements for windows 7 - 1 ghz and 512 ram (it's meant to run on netbooks/etc)
It actually runs pretty smooth, surprisingly

Re: [Newbie]Need Help Setting Up (CPU i7/GPU 460M)
I would run with smp -7, i have an i7 running that and it seems to give me the best PPD along with my GPU client As for the cudart error - what GPU client do you have running? If you installed the graphical client with the systray icon, make sure you're using the shortcut that is created in your sta...

I use a Dell desktop - P3 1ghz with 512mb of ram - running windows 7!
It runs 24/7 folding + our IP cam software (monitors the folding rack). System does about 45 PPD

Re: What is going on with BIGADV?
by Punchy » Wed Oct 27, 2010 12:46 pm I think most people understand the points differential between bigadv and smp2 - the smp2 work isn't "big" and thus doesn't get the extra "big" bonus. If "big" work runs out, that's life. I think (again my opinion only) that the bi...

Yep, i cannot fold these work units on my 8400gs or 8500gt, both cards EUE immediately.
Almost as if the lower power cards can't handle these work units. They're fine on everything else.

Re: Project: 6701 (Run 24, Clone 15, Gen 34) ???
Try disabling your SMP service and see what % cpu your GPU's are using while folding. I've found the ATI cards can use a ton of CPU while folding - though not enough to yield those low results... Are you sure all of the cores are being utilized for folding? It might be worth trying -smp 5 in your cl...

Re: Optimising new computer build for folding at home
2x 460's would be the best PPD for your money - but they will, in fact, use a bit more power (2x 150w TDP vs 1x 250w TDP)
You'll also need a power supply that supports 4x 6-pin pci-e if you go the dual 460 route, or a power supply with 1x 6-pin and 1x 8-pin if you go with the 480
It's your call!
