Re: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS FAHcontrol installation
So what options for those of us on 22.04 who don't want to muck around with snaps?

Re: HOWTO: How I got my R9 290 folding on Linux
Converting FAHClient to systemd service sometimes hangs up my boot. I have to manually kill the service then run startx to start the desktop.
Is their anyway to delay the service to start after the desktop is loaded?

Re: Unbuntu 18.04 and AMD driver -- need help
Got my rx 5700 working and it was a pain. The three key elements for me: 1. Install the OpenCL driver from the amdgpu-pro package on AMDs website. I needed to hack os-release file to make it look like ubuntu. 2. Manually edit the service to run as "root" not fahclient. In my case it was n...

Re: sorting out OpenCL platforms on linux
For my RX5700 I had to manually set OpenCL to opencl-slot 0 in the the gPu slot options.
Regardless of the OpenCL platforms installed, FAH will use the AMD proprietary OpenCL driver only.
I also had to set the client to run as root user.

Re: FAHControl crashing - Linux
OK problem solved. It had something to do with KDE's menu setup and window decorations. I reset plasma completely to all defaults and now it's working fine.

Re: FAHControl crashing - Linux
Maybe verify the file integrity (dpkg -V or rpm -V) of the gvfs package that installs libgvfsdbus.so or check the changelog to see if it was updated recently. Re-installed gvfs and all the related themes and window decorations for gtk. Still segfaults: (gdb) run /usr/bin/FAHControl Starting program...

Re: FAHControl crashing - Linux
The segmentation fault may not be related to the theme warnings. You could try running FAHControl under strace or python under gdb to what it's doing or get a stacktrace when it crashes. OK here is the debug: (gdb) run FAHControl Starting program: /usr/bin/python FAHControl [Thread debugging using ...

FAHControl crashing - Linux
Can someone figure out why my FAHCOntrol app is crashing? It was working fine until last week: mr_raider@HK-47:~$ FAHControl /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/fah/FAHControl.py:193: GtkWarning: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "adwaita", settings = gtk.settings_get_default() Lo...

Re: Unbuntu 18.04 and AMD driver -- need help
I would certainly try to at least have 1 core available per 1 or 2 GPUs. Otherwise, the GPU will need to share bandwidth with a CPU WU on a thread. This is not recommended. I've set it to medium, which only uses 14 threads (out of 16) for the CPU clients. That's on physical core for GPU. I also hav...

Re: Work unit availability for AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
Looks like I'm getting units with 15 cores set also. How many cores does the GPU client need? 1 thread or one physical core (1 core = 2 threads)?
