Re: Stray Volatage, and how to mitigate it.
Check the grounding at your power source (wall) 1st, try a different power cord 2nd, and 3rd verify the PSU has a good ground to your case (most points were aforementioned) but that would be the most efficient rout to take considering all the primary faults. EDIT: I re-read that last part of your po...

Re: In Depth Article on GPU Operational Costs
Since I'm in a temperate area with a rather solid winter/summer extremes I have yet come across anything more ideal than that

Re: In Depth Article on GPU Operational Costs
It would be 'cool' to invent a Hot Water Tank Supplemental Heat exchanger that uses computer heat. However shortcuts are bad, m'kay? Throwing your running computer into the bathtub to heat the water isn't suggested... One would have to use a 'pre-heat' system where the colder water going into the w...

Re: Stats appear to have frozen up during update
3 updates now with no stats - would be nice if someone would even respond with a "we are working on it" Hopefully means that everyone is working on the problem (*JK) but that was something I expected when I came in to work today and saw my stats flat-lined since midnight. Oh well points i...

Re: In Depth Article on GPU Operational Costs
Whats even cool about 'us' folders is we still use more than normal or above normal use would be since we use the majority of the cards resources. I believe we belong to the EXTREME user group when it comes to GPU users.

Re: 171.67.108.11 Reject
Good to know thanks! Did this prevent your client(s) from continuing? Just wondering if my machines at home will be stalled if they completed any WU's during this time-frame..

Re: Properly shutdown clients
During the summer months when I deviate from my 24/7 plan I change the checkpoints from the default 15min to 5min so I save ~20min more of work a day when I do shutdowns..

I'm looking into setting up a 4 GPU (GTX460) system and kind of stumbled onto a problem (I think). Looking at the pictures the cards have 2x 6 pin PCI connectors and NVIDIA says they use 160W full load. Will the below PSU handle them? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151102

Re: 16 Cores of Opteron?
Also, don't forget that your PSU is most efficient at 50% load. Got to do some maths on my main rig and think about swapping out my 80% PSU for a 90%+ one Right mine is stamped 80% (plus) and manufacturer says 88%, since I'm using a 550W psu then this puts me in the sweet spot for my setup. With a ...

Re: 16 Cores of Opteron?
A good calculator for how much your going to burn with a dedicated folding rig 24/7/365 or anything in-between I use: http://www.maxim-ic.com/tools/calculato ... y_cost.cfm My electricity costs $0.1038 per kWh under 500kW and $0.0867 each over 500kWh so for the base components of my rig running 24/7...

Re: Low PPD
...Also I ran the SMP for a little while just might switch back to that, for some reason I switched to the 4x consoles... Can you please tell us why you changed from SMP2 to Classic? If you initially got low PPD with the SMP2 WUs, it is because you have to first qualify for the Bonus points ( Detai...
