A real loss for the community, and at too young an age as well.

Re: Comparison of current GPUs PPD/watt and PPD/price
What would be amazing is a calculator that takes into account the price of the card, performance/watt, the price of electricity and the expected lifetime of the card. It could also show the relative break even period for different cards, and the total expected cost [upfront plus running costs] over ...

To be fair to the team, once I brought it their attention on their Slack channel they moved swiftly to begin the process of resolving the issue and posted into this forum.

Re: Nvidia Pascal GPU cards???
Be aware that Linux has no good overclocking tools. Never went into it deeper; but if important for you then Linux is not your choice. Managing clockspeed & fan speed using NVidia's X server settings work well enough for me. I believe it also allows voltage changes, I just haven't used it. Does...

Re: Dedicated rig High end GPU Low end CPU?
You must be one for a challenge with that set up - good luck. I've got an old GTX 570 in a Silverstone SG05, which is a little bit smaller, so I'm familiar with the form factor. But even with a SFX psu and no radiators it is less than ideal (in hindsight I would absolutely 100% go with a larger case...

Re: Dedicated rig High end GPU Low end CPU?
The only reason Fury's require water cooling is because they draw so much more power than most 9xx series NVidia's (although the 980Ti does come close). And as to quiet - you still have a fan on the rad and you're adding a water pump as well. I use a Sandy Celeron G550 for my GPU rig. Unless you wan...

Re: F@H Bagdes, teams
I'd love to see badges (displayed on the user page) rolled out across FAH as part of a modernised points system. The other thing that could be an improvement is points by category (say GPU, CPU, NaCl or mobile), while keeping the classic overall total points unchanged. That way if I can't compete at...

Re: Pande Group should enlist Lions Clubs
I have been thinking about the tax benefits of using section 501(c)(3) charitable organizations as vehicles for folding. In theory a folder could donate their computer hardware used for folding in kind and cash to cover the associated power costs to the charitable organisation [with a well set out '...

Re: New Pentium CPU with unlocked multiplier
It'll be a single thread champion. For F@H, less useful due to it's scaling abilities and the exponential scaling with linear increases in performance. From an efficiency perspective, going for additional cores is generally a better bet than overclocking, as power consumption rises significantly as ...
