Re: Bigadv points change

I have been invested quite a lot of money in 7 rigs, 6 i7 9XX and 2 i7-2600k. This is done to obtain a larger production of PPD, and to save power. After downgrading of bonus points do I use approx. 15% more power to achieve the same PPD as before. Previously, I did only GPU folding, but by changin...

Re: Bigadv points change

b. Given all that, my own personal feeling is that the points structure is relative - I haven't gotten emotionally attached to the the absolute numbers. Going forward from here, being able to complete a P6901 in 50 hours will still give me more points that someone who takes 72 hours to complete the...

Re: Bigadv points change

No problem, :ewink: Big Gun's ? if that's in ppd then it doesn't really matter to me, if you are doing as much as you are able that makes you a "Big Gun" in my book..... I agree with the science for science parity between different projects, but when a new project like Bigadv is offered, ...

Re: Bigadv points change

This one was a tough call. After much donor concern on this issue, we did our own research into the matter which showed that bigadv was out of balance. However, we know that any sort of points change will be unpopular. This puts us in a very tough position. If we do nothing, we're ignoring the majo...

Re: point system is getting ridiculous...

We need to back this turnip truck up a little bit, that has to do with the cpu technology not the QRB my 970's and 980's can do around 10 smp or a4 WU's a day for around 55,000 PPD Right, thus my question. If quick returns are as important as the exponential function makes them out to be, is my Q66...

Re: point system is getting ridiculous...

I would like to know if my meager contributions are actually worthwhile. It seems that quickly returned work units are several magnitudes more important to the project than the number of work units. Has the project advanced to a point where my stock clocked Q6600, for example, is more of a hindrance...

Re: Where have all the Folders gone...?

I was wondering this too. I save a copy of the stats webpage every now and then and when I noticed a huge drop in the totals the only significant change I noticed was with nvidia gpus.

Re: 171.64.65.56

It's a good idea in theory, but it does sound like it would increase server loads, potentially hurting the project more than it helps it...

Re: 171.64.65.56

My work unit has finally been returned successfully. After like 22 hours. Oh well, at least it is in. Sounds like the server just has a high load or something... Something like that. The Net Load is around 200, which is probably the limit that it can handle. . . . too many people all hitting that s...

This seems like the most likely scenario.
