Re: Help with "Core returned WU_STALLED" preventing me from running
I do not think it is possible to properly run FAH on CentOS7, or any EL7 for that matter. Why? EL (Enterprise Linux) systems are designed to be slow to upgrade (actually, some things will never be upgraded within a major point release; bugs are fixed by backporting). As I described here: https://nei...

Failed to get assignment from 'assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80'
I've been getting this error message "WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from 'assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80': Empty work server assignment" for all my AMD GPU platforms for a few days now (these are all HD-6xxx cards). Since all my Nvidea systems continue to fold, I am now wondering ...

Re: Message about malicious software
I sent a PM to neilrieck Sorry for the long delay; I should have responded sooner. Yep, my stuff is hosted at www3.sympatico.ca (owned and operated by Bell Canada) and we now know that hundreds of accounts were hacked (someone dropped a file tiled "default.php" into every directory; suppo...

Drop in active CPUs?
Team, From yours stats reports, I noticed that "Active CPUs" is approximately half of what it was a year ago. http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=osstats CPUs http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=osstats2 Cores 1) I wonder how much of this drop was due to Sony di...

Re: Fermi Cards were assigned non-Fermi WUs
Hey, thanks for the tip (it worked). I don't know why I was sent that WU (stamped Nov-19) so it looks like this machine didn't do any folding for the past three days. Oh well

Junk DNA not junk
Okay so this has nothing to do with protein folding but it does have a lot to do with low level biology. Enjoy.

Re: Problems with HD6670 and WinXP and the FAH V7 Client
As others have already mentioned, AMD has dropped OpenCL support for all platforms below Windows-Vista SP2. http://developer.amd.com/sdks/AMDAPPSDK ... quirements Since I still have some working Windows-XP systems, I just purchased two nVidea cards (which still support CUDA) http://developer.nvidia....

Re: dropped support for OpenCL on Windows XP
If you are certain your GPU should support OpenCL, but are unsure if a driver upgrade removed OpenCL support, then test your GPU subsystem with GPU-Z which is available here:

seven degrees of separation
Starting with a database of all known structural features in proteins, researchers have performed a network analysis based on their similarities. The surprising result is that almost every protein we know of is related to the rest by seven degrees of separation. Click the next link to read the full ...
